I'm surprised to see that nobody has mentioned this game yet! I personally can't wait until this game comes out and it was definitely one of the reason that helped me with my decision to get a PS4.
Horizon Zero Dawn is the new IP from Guerrilla Games set for 2016. An Action-Adventure type game that has some RPG elements. Looting enemies for machine parts and crafting arrows and various other weapons from their remains. Stealth and exploration seem to be of importance as well. I love how enemies aren't just simple obstacles, but rather difficult threats that require a lot of preparation and quick thinking to take out. The robots are in stark contrast with the tribal influenced world of Horizon Zero Dawn and the result is a rather unique setting. What do you think of Horizon Zero Dawn?
Note; I'll try and continually update the first page with more upcoming news once that comes out. You can watch the official trailer below. Some other links I posted might be of interest as well.
The game looks awesome... though I'm cautious because marketting seems to have outpaced quality and gameplay... so I'll be anxiously awaiting the reviews.
@Mega-Gazz: That's why I'm glad they're not shy on the gameplay part and actually show us gameplay every time we get a new look at the game. Hopefully the game turns out to be just as amazing as it seems to be.
I'm really looking forward to it. I'm trying not to make it like a holy grail of sorts because I'll just be disappointed, but I'm hoping it delivers. It could be Playstation's next huge hit, but we'll see.
My main worry is if it turns out like Assassin's Creed, because that would make it a huge waste of a potential IP, and because one Assassin's Creed is enough in the world.

I'm so nervous about this game, it's got huge potential but nothing I've seen is out of the ordinary. They said gameplay was "tactical" but all I saw was the main character running around and shooting a giant robot dinosaur
I've not been following this game at all really, going to keep it that way I think. One of the reasons I wasn't disappointed with Destiny, I think, is because I didn't follow it at all (like, at all, I remember watching people play the beta on live stream thinking "what the hell is this?") prior to release.
Your right props for showing gameplay - but it takes a lot to wow me. Mechanical dinosaurs with bright green tails may sound good in a boardroom for toys r us but it looks really amateurish to me. I absolutely loathed killzone shadow fall - there was nothing redeeming about the game an have zero confidence this will be any good. But you can hope.
For my dinosaur / exploration / rpg kicks we have no mans sky to look forward too.

@themcnoisy: Killzone was pretty good, at least the first half. Quite enjoyed getting it with my launch PS4 - A nice enough introduction to the new gen, at any rate! It's odd that you have zero confidence in Horizon being any good, though.. I mean its pretty clear it's at least going to be okay, at least thats the assumption I've come to given the limited videos I've seen and articles I've read lol
@kyleforrester87: After Halo, gears and mass effect 2 - killzone was cumbersome, slow and forced. I don't want to derail the thread with negativity but it looked rubbish. Like the ff15 demo but on your Todd with a bow and arrow and crap dinosaurs. I understood the initial press release for the game. Now after the last gameplay demo couldn't care less.

@themcnoisy: Never played Killzone, so I have no experience with Guerrilla Games. From what I've seen, their last game wasn't received all that well. Still, this looks promising (judging by the gameplay footage they've shown), I'm looking forward to it, but I keep my expectations low as I always do.
I am certain that many people have mentioned this game a LOT in the articles. However as it is still a way off from being released, I wasn't sure it deserved a forum thread yet.
Of all the 'new' IP's that I have seen revealed from E3 onwards, this is by far the most anticipated from my perspective. Its above many other franchise games too. Of all the Sony exclusives, this is 2nd only to Uncharted 4 to me.
I really enjoyed Killzone 2's campaign more than 3's but I do think 3 had the best MP. Killzone: Shadowfall looked visually impressive but I didn't feel the campaign or MP were as impressive as the previous entries. Its one of the exclusive franchises that I would buy a console to play. I actually preferred Killzone to Halo (particularly the latter games). Whilst that is a little off-topic, it does show why i have a bit more faith in Guerilla Games where Horizon: Zero Dawn is concerned. I also know they have employed some talented developers/writers from the RPG genre too - people responsible for games like the Witcher and Fallout series.
I found a video that shows concept art for the original trailer and the actual trailer side by side. I hadn't seen it yet, so I decided to post it here in case anyone's interested:
@Anchorsam_9: I dunno, it's clear even from the gameplay demos that there are different ways you can attack the robo-dinosaurs. I'm sure it's not going to be tactical in a strategy game sense, but it does seem like you have several different options at your disposal at any given time.
Any more word on a release date, or details about the game. I have never pre-ordered a game in my life, but watching videos of this, and having an affinity for all things Killzone (Guerilla being the makers of both) gets me really pumped for this.
@BodyW-outOrgans: All that's known right now is that it's down for a 2016 release. I'd wager we'll see more of Horizon at E3 this year, hopefully some more gameplay. The reveal trailer was so good, I hope Guerilla can pull it off!
@BAMozzy: Nah, agreed. I'm right there with you. In response to @BodyW-outOrgans' question, the last time it was mentioned was by House at the end of Sony's GDC presentation where they announced the PlayStation VR's price point. He quickly closed the presentation re-iterating that Horizon: Zero Down and The Last Guardian will launch on PS4 this year.
I still personally think it'll get delayed into earlier 2017. Guerrilla Games are very efficient, but this franchise has huge potential, and I think they'll want to make sure everything's spot on rather than rush it out.
