@roe@starhops Yep, I feel the same way! The more I play the more I fall in love, combat is slick and intense, the story throws hooks left right and centre leaving me wanting to discover more; Aloy is great and so likable. All round perfect package.
@roe So does it remind you of a game you used to love? I've been feeling this way lately with roleplaying games. I couldn't get HOOKED by the Witcher or Fallout. Let's hope Horizon does the trick whenever I get the chance to pick it up.
Wanted to play for just a moment and do just one main quest, but it turned out it was the fist "big" moment in the game. I was just looking for a fireplace to save the game (I know it also autosaves during story missions, but you never know) but the pace was so frentic and boy i had to play for a while before things slowed down a bit. This whole sequence and one moment in particular made me go "yeah, now I can see those guys worked on some action games before" hah.
As a person who had a healthy dose of skepticism for Horizon since the moment it was annouced, I can honestly say I'm really impressed with this game so far.
It's a bit good isn't it? I am still barely making a dent, made it just past the first 'big battle' and gosh that was intense. Story has me hooked, has gone differently to how I expected it to several times and the combat is well balanced.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
Yeah this games awesome, really surpassed my expectations. Aloy is an awesome main character. The combat is great, when you get used to slow motion sliding/jumping and bring it all together with critical melee attacks and traps... Brilliant! The voice acting is great, the side quests are generally interesting and meaningful, the story makes sense and is genuinely interesting moment to moment (so far) and doesn't climb up its own ar*e with its own political mumbo-jumbo like too many western RPG's do. And god, does it look and sound good, straight out the box without 5 or 10 updates. Did I mention meaningful side quests?!
If the 'Load' game time is accurate, I have spent 30hrs playing so far. Currently at 41.81% completion and just reached Level 32. I have a complete Shadow set of Weapons as well as a few sets of Purple Armour too and most of my pouchesare upgraded to the max carry capacity.
Loving the game so far...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
So is it just me, or the level recommendations for quests are a little wierd (at least early on)? I think I'm level 8 or 9, the next main quest is 12, while the only availible side quest is 7, but it's outside the first zone which i can't leave yet. Earlier I remember one of the main quest was something like 4 and jumped to 7 in a next quest that followed immediatale after.
I know level recommendations for quests in open world games are pretty much standard. It's just that they seem to be all over the place early on in the game (i.e what I described in the earlier post: if I were to follow them there's no way for me to reach level 12 right now in the game). It's not a big deal or anything, as I don't follow that type of instructions that closely, I was just curious.
There is a small bit of filler, specifically the coffee mugs and vantages. Metal flowers feel a little like filler too but I'm not sure if they're leading somewhere. Not too bad though.
@KratosMD I don't have any problems leveling up in general, was just curious of this particular moment in the story, in relation to the player level that's all. I'm not expecting it to be a problem, it's just a bit wierd (quests went from 4 to 7 to 12 back to 7 for me). Witcher 3 had a few similar occurences too, so it's no big deal.
@kyleforrester87 I just look at them so I don't stumble upon a situation like the early level 25 level quest here or an early 40-something level quest in Witcher 3 in Velen.
@Lurker Yeah, the level recommendations are all over the place. I pretty much ignore them, some level 12 quests are very hard for example and you have to fight a level 16 enemy, whereas other are just simple fetch quests.
