I couldn't find any topic on this amazing series on PS4 forums, thought it would be a nice idea to create one. Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 is finally coming to PS4 (although the price is a little too high IMO), and KH 2.8 came about a month ago... Figure we could try to make some sense to the story before III comes, haha.
Quick questions to begin, who do you think the traitor is in KH Chi (a.k.a. Back Cover)? And what is inside that box?
Didn't bother for KH 2.8 as I already have KH DDD on my 3DS and I wasn't going to pay Β£40 for a 2-3 taster
Will get the KH 1.5+2.5 remaster though seems like a good value package to me.

@Bread-Not-Toast If you own it already, maybe it is not worth the price again, hehe. I didn't play DDD yet, so I'm definitely getting KH 2.8 eventually. If you enjoy the series, though, I'd recommend watching Back Cover on YouTube, it's a good story about the Keyblade War. Some theories say that the Master of Masters (from Back Cover) could be the real enemy of the series instead of Xehanort...
@Bread-Not-Toast@renankj i dunno i got DDD on 3DS but i still got 2.8 and it's a vast improvement over the 3DS version, not only does it look better but the added control stick really makes it better to play
beside Back Cover was good and so was 0.2 a Fragmentary Passage so in my opinion it's worth it
as for your questions there was no traitor, it was a lie set up by the master in order to ensure events played out as they should (the Keyblade he gave his apprentice has his eye in it so he can see all he and his aprentices can see throughout time) and as for the box i'm not sure but it's gonna be important in KHIII i reckon

Been a fan since the first game came out. I was a pretty big Disney kid back then, so I really wanted it. I still remember the magazine previews and commercial. I've played KH1, 2, 358/2, and Birth by Sleep, but I somehow missed Chain of Memories and I haven't played coded, X or 3D. I plan on getting the HD collections in the near future to fix that though.
I really can't wait for KHIII, but unfortunately that's all we can do, eh?

@FullbringIchigo I'm inclined to think like you too, but I gotta say that Luxu is weird, if there is a traitor, it could be him. It's so weird that if they never knew about this War and never tried to do anything about it, then there wouldn't be no War, at least not more than a battle between them since there were no other Keyblade Wielders. Also, Master of Masters was wearing the same clothes as Organization XIII, which shields the user from darkness if I remember correctly... So suspicious for him to have it. Maybe Luxu is a young Xehanort.
@KratosMD I had 1.5 and 2.5 on PS3, I sold them to get money for 1.5+2.5 on PS4, hehe. I guess this is the only time I sold two games to buy one that's actually those two games in one, haha. Apparently, they're gonna be 60fps on PS4, I'm dying to play it.
@KratosMD@renankj i own 1.5 and 2.5 on PS3 but i'm still getting the 1.5/2.5 PS4 release
why because i'm an idiot, not really but i am a hoarder, i don't believe in getting rid of something i paid for unless i can make the money back and with games and consoles that's impossible, it's probably why i still have every game system and game i ever brought

@ZurapiiYohane It's not available in my country, sadly... There's a non-official way to play it, of course, but I thought it wasn't worth it. I did watch the ending on YouTube, though, hehe. Not gonna spoil it for you, it doesn't go much further than Back Cover, actually. What did you think of the game so far?
As for the traitor, Luxu is a possibility, yeah, although I don't think his keyblade is the reason... He might have been tempted by whatever is inside that box and he didn't have any info from the Book of Prophecies like the others... Seems to me like this is all a greater plan by the Master of Masters.
20 locks inside that box is a great guess! I think it's a safe bet to say it's related to x-blade, particularly if you remember Xehanort in Birth By Sleep saying that in the Keyblade War wielders fought for the x-blade. I hope KHIII brings all the answers, haha.
@FullbringIchigo Haha, I don't think you're an idiot. I thought about doing the same, actually, but ultimately I figured I wouldn't play PS3 any longer after buying PS4 (much less its versions of games I will own on PS4), so I sold it with all my games. I got Tomb Raider again on PS4, for example, and I plan to buy GTA V, Last of Us and Uncharted 1/2/3 also - which I had for PS3.
I don't think there's any traitor the Master of Masters made it up to have the apprentices turn on each other.... Now I have the theory that there is maybe a 7 apprentice called superb instead of superb being the Master himself as most people seem to think
Best topic ever, haven't bought 2.8 cause I'll spend a lot if time playing 1.5+2.5 so maybe after i finish those (which I've pre ordered in amazon) the 2.8 will be cheaper π
The only one i haven't played is the 3ds one, and i hated chain of memories battle card thing π so i didn't played the riku version of it. Ahhh the memories, i remember as a kid being in love with riku π-
@Xaritah That's a great idea, I was actually thinking of buying both in March, but now that you mentioned it, I think your idea is better, haha. I get what you're saying, the card system can be a deal breaker if you don't like it - after all, the entire game is designed around it. I kinda liked it, personally, especially for fighting bosses. If you played when you were a kid only, I'd recommend giving it another chance, hehe. Also, the original part of the story is quite nice!
@ZurapiiYohane Yes, Chirities please! They're really cute, haha. I never thought about Kairi as a princess in the royal way... More of a girl with a pure heart that simply carried the title Princess of Heart. But I like your thinking, if Ansem is her father that could lead to some great moments in the story! What if she somehow inherits his research? How would that affect her? I always think how weird it is that families are never mentioned in KH, I mean, Sora and Riku left home for years, how did their families react to that?
@DualWielding Interesting... But where could that 7th member be? They all seemed to share a place in Back Cover, at least in the beginning (much like Birth By Sleep where Ven, Aqua and Terra trained together in the same place)... It would have to be someone trained somewhere else, maybe in secret, maybe even trained to use darkness...
@renankj yes i did playes it as a kid, and it was hard for me π i never did kill the final boss for exemple π’ i will have to try it again when 1.5+2.5 arrives, maybe i will be different now π
I do wish we could see more from the main characters' parents. It would help add a little more depth to their lives, even though it isn't that important in the bigger picture.

@Xaritah She is waiting for Sora longer than we are for KH3, apparently, haha.
@ZurapiiYohane@DerMeister So weird that they simply dropped their parents, haha. I have a theory that they forgot about Riku and Sora when the worlds were restored and they didn't come back home. Remember how Kairi and everyone else forgot about them? If anything, it's weirder that Sora and Riku don't miss their parents and bros/sisters if there are any.
New question, then, what do you guys think of the duality light and darkness? In the first game, it felt quite straightforward - light was good and darkness was bad, but it evolved a lot since then, it's hard to see light as bad thing, but everyone has light and darkness inside and darkness seems to be a great power if you know how to use it, a power to do good just as much as light. I believe some people in KH are more inclined to master light and others darkness, but that doesn't define them as good or bad. What do you think?
