Could never get into this series, tried several times but just found it boring. Wish they would make another game in the KotOR series instead,, but yeah like that will happen.

I played the 3 previous ME and liked them all, but I always waited for price drops. Same will happen with this since there are too many games out there I still have to play.
Bought the first at release (limited Edition on XB360) and bought every one since at release too- Andromeda is no exception... Pre-ordered 8/9 months ago
A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!
Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
Loved the first 2, even though ME2 was somewhat tainted by the egregious 'online pass' nonsense.
1 was good, but lacked polish.
3 was alright.
Put it this way - I replayed 1 and 2 with notepads, hand sketched maps, etc to rinse every bit of content out of them.
I never replayed 3, even after buying the dlc that supposedly makes it better....
Definitely interested to see what happens with 4, will wait for reviews though. Really want it to be great, and I'm looking forward to the return of the mako. Krogan For Life.
I really want to like Dragon Age, but I only really like the first one. I quite enjoy the 'game-of-thrones' flavoured narrative, and the fiction overall is excellent, but there are many better examples of fantasy based RPGs (Some that are even made by bioware!)
I enjoyed ME1 and ME2 (minus the gawd awful hovercraft planet driving missions) but I never played ME3. I had some RL things pop-up back then so had to hit pause on gaming for a while and by the time things settled down I bought a PS4 and didn't look back. I have preordered ME:A though; the combat videos sold me on getting it.
Mass Effect 1-3 are in my opinion, the best trilogy of games released in any IP in any generation of consoles. ME3 is the worst as the promises of the first 2 never materialised, but its still a solid game.
I played both ME1 and ME2 at least twice, that is testament to the games in itself - I would never think of playing other games twice of this length, but the sheer wonderment, quality dialouge, interactions with crew, the fighting, the space ships, the crazy OMG cliffhangers and off the charts voice acting with Femshep, The Illusive man, Wrex, Garus, Liari, Morden. Wow seriously amazing.
Andromeda cant possibly be as good, they have already sailed right off course with what they are trying to achieve with bases and other such frivolities. But am I going to buy it?
Preorder baby. The wife kindly rewarded me for being a great husband with her £20 off voucher from Very and I got some super version of the game for £37 after the deduction. Maybe its a copy of Mass Effect Andromeda and a Bikini. Who knows, but I cant wait!

@themcnoisy While you are at it, you should absolutely get Horizon, would be a big shame for you to miss out on that one. It's excellent, and this is coming from someone who doesn't really like similar open world games like The Witcher.
@kyleforrester87 I may do just that. I'm going to finish off the few PS4 games I was running prior to switching off the ps4 (hotline Miami 2 and Ratchet and Clank) then start with ME and try to plant 25 hours into it within the first week. If its great I will hold off on P5 until May and buy Horizon in the meantime.
But as you know Kyle, an amazing game is practically coming every week now. I wish I had the time off like I did in December/early Jan as I can't possibly hope to keep up. May need to become a youtuber or something.

@FaultyDroid oh no. Its dragon age inquisition in space.
The same thing happened in that game. Within minutes your the only person in the world who can close portals and your the 'chosen one' its so annoying. The scripting sounds practically the same too. Oh dear.
I will reserve judgement until I'm a few hours in, but I'm a tad worried now.

Two Knights of the Old Republic games, three Dragon Age's, & now four Mass Effects. Thats NINE games of being the 'chosen one'.. World-hopping with three team-mates following your every move.. The rest of your crew waiting on your ship (who are represented by ONE of seemingly every species) Dialogue choices that affect yours & theirs alignment, not to mention the awkward & unnecessary 'romance' scenes. Its literally been the same game repackaged. KOTOR1 was 2003.. thats nearly 14 years & they couldnt come up with anything new.. When you look at it like that, its pretty embarrassing..
@kyleforrester87 Same. I was sold on it. I was weary of it. Now I'm "let's wait and see" mode. Persona 5 looks like my next purchase. Still wandering around in Horizon, so I'm happy.
