Topic: Persona 5 for PS3 and PS4

I currently only own a Vita and I am a new (and huge) fan of Atlus games, especially Shin Megami Tensei and Persona.

I want to get Persona 5 when it releases next year, but I don't know whether to get the PS3 version (which buying a pre-owned PS3 will be a lot cheaper), or the PS4 version. I understand that the PS4 version will run better but the question I want to know is how much better?

Currently, websites have reported a comparison on 3 screenshots, which look almost identical, save for a crisper image, slightly brighter colours, and shorter loading times. The graphics and texture work remains largely identical however.

Does anyone know if the PS4 version runs at 1080p and 60fps? Or what resolution and framerate it does run at? The resolution doesn't bother me too much but the framerate on the PS4 version is the difference between which console I will buy for the game. I will get the PS3 version if the game is simply a minor visual and resolution increase on the PS4 but locked at 30fps. Unless it runs particularly poorly.

Buy a PS4. Play Persona 5. Great success.

One thing to consider is that the old-style PS4s will likely be a fair bit cheaper by the time Persona 5 comes out, since the PS4 Pro will be out by then!

Thanks, hopefully the prices of pre-owned PS4s will be low enough for a purchase when Persona 5 comes out next year. I'm still siding with the PS3 version for now until I see a more detailed analysis of how the game runs on both consoles.

@KratosMD As far as I am aware, the PS3 and PS4 version content reported to be identical. The differences are really in the visuals department. The PS4 is a port of the PS3 version and as such, no content was cut for the PS3 version.
