It’s been a few months so about time to touch base on the backlog…
——————
>>>>Previous Projects - PS5 Returnal - Done! A Plague Tale - Done and Platinum! PS4 13 Sentinels - Awh man, no progress. I’ve forgotten this poor game. I need to get back into it. I’m probably less than halfway through. Vita Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight - Done and Platinum!
>>>>Previously Planned Purchases Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - purchased! Demon’s Souls - not yet… sale prices have tempted me but I just can’t bring myself to buy it since I think I’m not ready to tackle it anytime soon Spider-Man: Miles Morales - purchased!
———————
>>>>Currently On Deck PS5 Final Fantasy 7 Remake - probably halfway or more. Making gradual progress and savoring it. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - I feel like I’m getting in the mood to play this one soon PS4 13 Sentinels - I’ll keep this on, as I really like it and do want to finish it, if other things stop distracting me Resident Evil 3 - Been excited to play this and Halloween is coming Vita Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - All the praise lately about this game has me curious to give it a try again. It’s the one game in the series I never quite invested energy into. I enjoyed getting my Vita out of hibernation recently so I want to try this as my next handheld project.
>>>>>>Planned Purchases The Last of Us Part II - I’ve waited a long time to buy this, thinking some kind of PS5 version or bundle with Factions 2 is coming… and it really doesn’t sound like it is. At least not anytime soon. I might as well just buy the last gen version. Kena: Bridge of Spirits - this sounds right up my alley. Would have bought it already if I didn’t have a bunch of games already in the backlog Guardians of the Galaxy - this is the one wild card. Recent previews have me more excited. But reviews will be what pushes me toward buying early or waiting.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
Only game I fingered earlier that I actually beat now was SMT III: Nocturne HD Remaster. I've beaten a variety of other games, though.
Games I either need to finish or play further into:
God of War: I actually just got back into this one. I'm probably a little more than halfway through the game, so it shouldn't be too difficult to finish this over the next few weeks.
Ring Fit Adventure: Still need to get back into this.
Super Paper Mario: Not really enjoying this, but I don't really want to leave it hanging, either. Really disappointed, because I wanted to like this game.
Persona 5 Strikers: This one is... I dunno. I should love it. I loved Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal, and I'm not hugely averse to musou titles. Not sure why I'm not really getting into this.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Fun game, but I dropped it after the second town and haven't been back since. I'd love to play deeper into this.
Queued/backlogged games I'd like to play, or at least start:
The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve: Loved the first one. Probably going to start this once I'm done with GoW.
Shadow of the Colossus: The PS4 remake, that is.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC: Relisting this. If I'm ever going to catch up with this gargantuan epic, I need to just start playing this.
Ys Origin: I'd like to clear through at least one more Ys game this year. This one requires three or so playthroughs to fully complete, so we'll see if I'm up to the task.
Purchases-wise, there's a LOT of stuff I want on my Switch, and very limited time. I'm not keen on adding more to my already bulging backlog, either. The only certainty at this point is Shin Megami Tensei V in November. Otherwise, I'm also looking at Tetris Effect, Fatal Frame V, Disco Elysium, Metroid Dread, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, and Advance Wars: 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp.
@Ralizah Disco Elysium is in the sale at under £30. Unfortunately I paid full price yesterday ROFL.
@Th3solution firing in those platinums, well done mate.

@themcnoisy Oof. When I buy games, it's either at launch or after the sale price has fully depreciated. It helps me to avoid the aggravation of exactly this sort of situation.
@RogerRoger tbh it's possibly the least fun I've ever had with a Mario-related game.
I might peck away at the game here or there. I've heard the story is decent, so I'm curious if it gets better over time.
Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)
Current backlog: Red Steel 2 (Wii) Team Sonic Racing (PS4) Night in the Woods (Switch) The Evil Within (PS4)
Upcoming purchases: Rabbids Go Home (Wii) Mario Party Superstars (Switch)
Don't really have many planned purchases since I mostly buy games when they go on sale or when they arrive in stock (in terms of used games, such as Rabbids Go Home).
In terms of my current backlog, I'm almost done with Red Steel 2, I'm roughly halfway through both Team Sonic Racing and Night in the Woods respectively, and tomorrow I'll be starting up The Evil Within as part of Pure Xbox Game Club. Really looking forward to playing through this game as horror has become one of my favourite genres in gaming and tomorrow is the the beginning of the month of Halloween after all, so I'm excited to play through some horror titles. I'm actually planning on starting up another Wii game after Red Steel 2 but I still haven't decided on which one yet, which is why I didn't put one on the list. The ones I'm interested in playing are Pikmin 2 and Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, so I'll most likely be starting up either one of those.
I don't really like planning things out with gaming as I do enough of that in regards to work... But I should probably write down all the games I have in the ol' backlog so I have a full list of everything and potential motivation to work way through them (via shame or something I dunno )
What I'm currently playing
▪ Pathfinder: Kingmaker (Albeit very slowly on the weekends)
▪ Uncharted 3 (Getting back to it after putting it by the wayside)
Games I've recently beat
▪ Delatrune chapter 1 & 2
▪ Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst
Games I got partway through, want to play through but will restart from the beginning whenever I get round to 'em (I'll make this list however I damn well like! )
▪ Danganronpa V3
▪ Dark Souls Remastered
▪ Darkest Dungeon
▪ Final Fantasy XII - The Zodiac Age
▪ Wild Arms 3
Games I put down but can easily get back into where I left off
▪ Dragon's Crown Pro
▪ God Eater Resurrection
▪ Nioh
▪ Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy Of The Duelist - Link Evolution
In the backlog that I've yet to properly start
▪ Dead Rising 2
▪ Devil May Cry 2 (From the HD collection)
▪ Devil May Cry 3 (From the HD collection)
▪ Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition
▪ Enter The Gungeon
▪ Final Fantasy X (From the HD Remaster)
▪ Final Fantasy X-2 (From the HD Remaster)
▪ Monster Sanctuary
▪ Nioh 2
▪ The King Of Fighters: The Orochi Saga
▪ -EDIT- Yakuza Kiwami
▪ Ys VIII - Lacrimosa Of Dana
What I'd like to replay
▪ Ape Escape 2
▪ Dark Cloud
▪ Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2 in NA)
▪ Dark Souls 3
▪ Divinity Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition
▪ Doom 64
▪ Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen
▪ Horizon Zero Dawn (And play the frozen wilds stuff for the first time)
▪ Nexomon Extinction
▪ Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
... That's only including stuff on my PS4. There's a lot I want to replay on my PS2 and my PS3 (Mainly PS1 classics) and plenty of stuff left to get on PS4 too 😳
Most of 'em are RPGs too of at least 40+ hours... 12 of them in just the sections listed there that aren't things I want to replay @RogerRoger. Even worse being that I've already added another game to the list...
As for my schedule yeah I've finally got back into a groove thanks
Took a little while but I should be on here a bit more regularly now. There's some breathing room compared to last year thankfully so I'm not racing round like a headless chicken 90% of the time 😅
That's true I very well could @KilloWertz! I only notice frame rates when they really start to chug though... Other then the one time I went from Dark Souls 2 SotFS to Dark Souls 3 and actually noticed the difference from 60 to 30
It won't bother me replaying Zero Dawn at 30... But I definitely plan on playing Forbidden West on PS5 and I'll go for the 60 fps there I think

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy@RogerRoger lol one of my teacher friends had a birthday yesterday. When I asked her how she'd be spending it, she replied bluntly: "Grading papers." Although apparently things have calmed down since last year, where she had extra duties thanks to changes they had to make to classes once covid exploded across the states.
I'll be playing the potato version of Forbidden West with long load times and 30fps on my PS4, Foxy. We can compare notes!

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Honestly, I didn't care whether a game was 30 FPS or 60 FPS as long as it was stable until I started playing more games on the PS5. I think the only game I chose to play in 30 FPS was Miles Morales, and that was because I had just played the DLC from the first one that way and was used to it.
You are in that position right now where you don't know any better, so it doesn't matter. Not a criticism even though it sounds like it. The extremely faster load times still matter more to me, but I'm still liking 60 FPS the more I play. I'd imagine you will too when the time comes.

Quoted for truth! (Though thankfully teaching 6-7 year old makes this a bit of an easier task for me )
I'm sure you can compare notes on Forbidden West with all the others whom have a PS5 already Ral as I don't plan to get one (or H:FW) for a long while! But I'll happy to compare notes even it's a few years after the fact! 😄

@Keith_Zissou ‘That’s ages away’ I said to myself. And then had a panic attack realising that I’ve barely started buying for Christmas and it’s really not long at all until 2022.
@Keith_Zissou welcome to the cult (just don't sup the cool-aid 😉). That's gonna be a busy year of gaming right there... but a fun one. Some great games and series for sure.
I'm gonna try and de-clutter my PS4 hard drive so I can help you get the co-op trophies for Farcry 4... and if you really want to try an online game, I have The Division 2 on the back-burner and would appreciate a hand grinding out that plat if you fancy it... absolutely no pressure though. Also, as someone who is not overly fond of multiplayer games, I can't praise Remnant from the Ashes enough.
Glad you're enjoying Aragami, the fact that you're having so much fun will probably bump it up my schedule a bit I reckon.
I know this is going to be a boring post, but if I listed my true backlog, I'd be here all day and make 0 progress. It would also be depressing. Still, I'm working my way through a bit of my Xbox backlog now on my Series X with Scarlet Nexus, then onto The Medium, and probably Doom Eternal finally after that.

@Keith_Zissou ahh that’s a bummer… still, at least you found two games that you’re enjoying.
Yeah no rush on The Division 2 bud, I got more than enough on the plate for the time being. Think I picked it up real cheap (like £7 or something), so it’ll only get cheaper as the months pass.
I’m gonna try and install Farcry 4 this week, so I’ll let you know 👍
Wow, didn't realise it's been quite some time since my last update!
Previous backlog: Red Steel 2 (Wii) - Finished Team Sonic Racing (PS4) - Halfway through the campaign, but it's on hold for now Night in the Woods (Switch) - Finished The Evil Within (PS4) - Finished
Previous upcoming purchases: Rabbids Go Home (Wii) - Not purchased, although I'm not planning to buy it anymore Mario Party Superstars (Switch) - Purchased
Current backlog: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (3DS) Call of Duty: Black Ops (360) Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)
I'm more than halfway through Fire Emblem so I'll probably finish it up within the next week at this rate. This game is just straight up addicting, lol. I'm already over 20 hours into it. Black Ops won't take that long to finish so I might wrap it up next week as well. In terms of the PS4 titles, depending on which one gets chosen for Game Club, I'll either be playing SotC or KH3 next. I tend to play Kingdom Hearts games near Christmas time as it's just such a magical experience to play Disney-related games during Winter. This will also be the last KH game for me, so I'm really excited to play through it. Probably won't start it until I've finished Fire Emblem though as I don't want to play two RPGs at the same time.
Once again, I'm quite unsure if I'll be buying the above games as I'm in a JRPG mood now but I might lose interest and move to something else, which means that I may not get them. I haven't bought these games yet because I've been buying a lot of games lately and considering that Black Friday is coming up, I'm hoping the PS4 titles will be discounted. Speaking of which, I might get other games during Black Friday week but right now it's hard to tell which ones without knowing which games will be discounted.
@RogerRoger I'm just not in a mood to play Wii games anymore. You probably recall when I played through Red Steel 2 a couple of months ago and that made me want to buy a bunch of Wii games that I hadn't gotten yet. But seeing as how no used copy had shown up for Rabbids Go Home during this time, I never bought it and I didn't feel like keeping it on my watchlist anymore. It's not like I've become uninterested in the game, I'll probably get it eventually if it ever shows up and I'm in the right mood.
