@Star-Lord: I had Resistance 3 on my first draft but swapped that out in favour of Bioshock. A very under-rated series in my opinion and the best work from Insomniac - I much prefer the more serious side to this than their other games!

Maybe @themcnoisy can follow up this 'cup' with the 'Best Playstation exclusive of all time cup' - games that are or have only been available on Playstation. Most of these games are not 'necessarily' Playstation games as the are available on other formats. Maybe in some cases, the Playstation version is not necessarily the best or defining version - take Star Wars Battlefront 2 for example, it was great but other format versions had more features/players. Whether this makes a difference or not though is questionable - if you only had a PS2, then SW:BF was the only version you could play and therefore experience. Skyrim, many peoples GotY, was terrible on PS3 by comparison.

I think having a PS ONLY cup would celebrate all that we love about Playstation exclusive games and what defines the brand.

@themcnoisy: I certainly think that a Best Exclusive is much more apt. I know quite a few 'exclusives' have been mentioned but I wonder how many more would get mentioned and celebrated? Certain franchises, like Killzone or Resistance, may not be the 'best' ever games to grace a PS console and there is no doubt more popular and bigger games in their genre and so often won't get a mention in lists that include 3rd party multi-platform games too but that doesn't mean that they are not great. It would also highlight the diversity and quantity of PS Exclusives - something of late the PS has been criticised for. Having a generic cup, especially one where the majority of games are available on other platforms doesn't show the extent of the exclusives and reinforces the idea that the 'best' games are not specifically Playstation games. I think it would be great to see who would win the best PS exclusive game ever but even better to see the games that make PS different from any other platform and one of the reasons we bought the PS over other options.

Was a tough pick with so many great Playstation games but I picked them based on my experience with them at the time. Alot of these games just felt new and do something that other games at the time did not for me... I don't know how some of the older games would hold up today if I put them on but I know at the time I played the crap out of them and loved them so that's my reason for picking these.

@BAMozzy: I had thought about that two especially when I nominated GTA Vice City. The only thing that I could justify it with was it was on PS 2 first. So that brings another point to mind, what about stuff that was timed exclusives like GTA Vice City or stuff that was ported to another system, but started on PS first.

@adf86: Thanks for voting mate, glad you picked mgs 3! Only only picked pp as its an evolution of that game and its fresh in my head. Meeting the end and the fight with big boss before the big twist at the conclusion. Great game.

@Tasuki exactly - even something as engrained in ps lore such as ff7 or Ridge Racer have been ported. But I will throw what I think are exclusives together in the next couple of rounds.

Quick reminder of the rules (in case you missed comment 1. This cup is PS specific and you can only pick games from the PS1, 2, 3, 4, PSP and Vita.

To start with;

Prologue.
Pick your 8 favourite ever ps games. A maximum of 4 games off any one platform.

This will run until the 1st of March when the competition begins proper. Any game picked multiple times will start the competition in round 2. Games picked once will start in round 1. Games not picked at all will be out!

@themcnoisy: No problem, I choose MGS3 for exactly it's story and how the gameplay was completely mixed up to feel fresh. I'm still in two minds about changing one for Persona 4 but there all so good lol
