Well here I am with another OT of a game thats fond to me. Let me sum up why I think this game is awesome and everyone with a remote interest in realistic racing games should take a look: multiple career paths exceptional handling/damage/mechanical failure/pitstop/fuel/tire model totally scalable experience for the guy that loves need for speed up to the simulation freak awesome multiplayer and COOP racing the closest thing to real racing ever hitting consoles community developed and crowd-funded (I'm part of that) over the past few years exceptional graphics and sounds as well as sense of speed create racing teams/clubs and manage them realistic and even realtime weather and day/night cycle for ALL tracks huge field of racing possible from karts to prototypes to formula cars to GT cars and more Let us discuss racing tips for beginners as well as general impressions here. We can arrange tournaments and friendly competitions here. Also lets start with talking about what's your angle on simracing? Here's my story: I never really liked simracers, or racing games in general. I enjoyed the odd session of Need for Speed 2 Special Edition back in the day but that was about it. Only when my then best friend introduced me to the fun of Forza Motorsport I slowly started to warm up to the car subject. I was well past my 20th birthday back then when I got hooked onto cars like usually boys do when they are around 12. So I was - like with everything in my life - a bit late with that. I enjoyed the heck out of Forza and Forza 2 but with Forza 3 and ongoing I was more and more disappointed. I played iRacing for a while but the heat of the stiff competition was too much for me back then. Then I switched to PS3 and got Gran Turismo 6 and fell in love with the genre all over again. I even platinumed it. I'm totally into Touring Cars (V8 Australian Supercars in RL) and endurance races, where weather, pit-strategy and fuel and tires play a big role. I love that kind of stuff. I even got a racing wheel and some nice setup for Gran Turismo 6. I'm a crowd-funder and "team member" (thats my tier-status) of Project Cars and had the joy to play weekly builds for it on my PC for the past 2 and a half years. I saw it grow and I saw the polish that they put into the game the past few months. I can only say it's the most visceral and up to snuff simulation (yet scalable to a level a Need for Speed freak can handle it well) I've ever played. So that's my angle on simracing! :) I really hope it lives up to the expectations of the players, it surely does live up to mine, but only with commercial success is a wealth of DLC (free car DLC has already been confirmed) and a solid online community possible. This game truly has a very high status on my wishlist and is already pre-ordered on the store! Hope to race you guys there!!

Tip: If you're struggling keep traction and stability control ON until you got a feel for the game, all other assists: turn them off as soon as possible and get into manual shifting. Lovin' it!

Got a race last night b4 bedtime. Must admit Im surprised by how good this game is made, especially to work flawlessly on release day. Was pleasantly surprised at how well the car feels under your control. The car actually feels weighty and you can feel the load shift under you as you adjust the steering. Just cant seem to get into manual shift yet. My eyes are too busy looking at the scenery as it passes to concentrate on gear changes lol. But overall without a release day patch this is the best faultless release I've had on PS4 so far. Good going guys.

Nope they ARE hard. Open Wheels are especially tricky because you gotta be careful overtaking. Trading some paint in touring cars is no problem but oh my, when you get some contact with those huge rubber tires, OFF you go...

I struggle to get off the line sometimes!

I'm having struggles with the Caterham 500 RS, loving it but its a handful! Acceleration like a formula car, not so much the aerodynamics and body stiffness, lol. It's all over the place but the more it's satisfying when it finally goes where it should!

True! I hear there might be coming the Import Livery feature to consoles too. Given the big success this game had with its console launch and that it is crowd-funded and co-developed with the funders/players I'm sure they'll continue to value the player inputs!

I'll try to work my schedule around that. Also I got myself a Thrustmaster 300RS and I must say, the game shines even more with it and the wheel itself is a TOP product oh my!!
