@rastamadeus:
"After Sega, Rare are my biggest gaming love and it pains me to see what Microsoft has done to them."
I see this on a lot of forums whenever discussion of Rare comes up but it has never been explained how what happened to Rare is MS' fault. The company was losing talent before Nintendo sold off its shares to MS. Clearly Nintendo saw something going on and took advantage of a new comer to the console space that was trying to make a splash. I agree it's a shame seeing what Rare has become but I don't see how it can be pinned all on MS.

Sony just need to add PS one mode to Ps4 and offer a collection of their classic Ps1 games.

Destruction Derby , GT 1 /2 , G Police etc etc...

As for RARE themselves... Kinda lost track of them soon as MS nabbed them, I had a lot of fun with their games back in the SNES games, but seeing as I only owned an original xbox for like less then a month, and only got a xbox 360 to play Project Gotham Racing and Forza 3 which I eventually got bored with and sold the 360, and not owning a xbox 1, then not all that clued up on RARE anymore.

Until the PS4 came along I was more a casual PS3 gamer and more a PC gamer, however PS1 I used heck of alot and I've love to be able to play Tekken, and all the classic PS1 games on a PS4 - you could technically do this now on a decent gaming PC (which I have done) but I have been tempted a few times to source out a old PS1 and CRT screen to get that old skool gaming fix : - )

The closest Sony has to a Rare is Naughty Dog, and that would be a great collection: Crash (Including the racing and party games), Uncharted and Jak and Daxter games would be amazing

@Gamer83 I agree. The big example is Free Radical (and on the subject: a TimeSplitters collection on PS4 would be awesome!) with key members of the GoldenEye and Perfect Dark teams. I think the awful Kinect stuff can be pinned on Microsoft but with Sea of Thieves it seems like Rare is actually being allowed to make games again. But as far as I know, one of the few mainstays is Louise Ridgeway.

There was a game idea here. It's gone now.

@Gamer83: I said, I think (can't be bothered going back a page - Sunday is a lazy day!) that their games had started to drop off from the turn of the century. The last few for Nintendo were good - meh before the sale. Since at Microsoft they've carried that on. By what Microsoft have done to them I mean more made them focus on garbage like Kinect and Avatars. Rare are not Rare anymore but to see a once mighty studio reverted to making, essentially, Mii clones for nearly a whole generation is just sad. It's like if we work out how to bring people back from the dead and resurrect icons like Gandhi, Oscar Wilde and Mother Teresa but do it just to work at McDonalds.

@Anchorsam_9: Closest thing they have to a Rare but still a trillion miles away. Anyway, all those games will be on PS Now so it just proves again why there'll never be a Sony Replay collection.

@Matroska: "Do you realise that after 18 months the PS4 had already outsold the NES in Europe?" Do you realise that has nothing to do, whatsoever, with whether more American's played Diddy Kong Racing than Europeans? Especially when gaming was a tiny cult back then and as it went into the 90s-2000 (when Rare was most proliferate) it was still nowhere near the size gaming was in America over here. It's like comparing a burglary and an act of terrorism and saying they both deserve the death penalty - pointless.

Games may have sold more at that time in one country than others but it doesn't mean American's love Rare more than anywhere else so it's more appealing to them. Rare are iconised in England and Europe much more than over in America. Of the collection of American's I have on my PSN friends list only one of the ten I asked cared about Rare Replay while all but two of the ten European friends I asked are tempted to buy an Xbox One solely for the collection. So does that mean more Europeans want it than Americans? Seems to by that logic.

I'm not trying to argue with you (honestly), but saying it's more appealing to American's is just wrong. You can use all the sales stats from over a decade or more ago you want but it doesn't change that it's wrong.

I think it would fantastic if we could get a Psygnosis collection on PS4. Here's all the games they made over the years, quite a few superb games in there and Sony owns Psygnosis now. http://www.psygnosis.org/games/
Give us some trophies on top for a good price and it should sell by the bucket load.

They'd be better off just getting PSone Classics to work on the PS4.

I agree. There were/are classics from PSOne and 2 that are still fun to play. Loved Vandal Hearts!

@Stalepanther: Oh man, I loved the original Vandal Hearts on PSone, give me some trophy support and I would play the hell out of that.
