So as you can tell I'm pretty excited about the Resi 2 remake
Actually, I never owned the second game - I played the demo that came with RE1: Directors Cut and didn't like it very much. The demo was harder than the end game ended up being, and it was hard enough getting through the first section to the gun shop. Also, there was no context, you were just plopped into a street next to a burning truck from a black screen. Back then, it wasn't a patch on Jilly, Chris, Barry, Wesker and a scary mansion.
But I did play it a fair amount at friends houses and although I don't know the game in side out I am very familiar with certain scenes and I did clear it at least once (Leon A, and Claire B scenarios) but I don't know it inside out.
I'm wondering if I should do a Vita play through in advance of the Remake dropping to refresh my memory. On the one hand, it might ruin some things that might be surprising in the remake as I've forgotten, but on the other hand it might be fun to be familiar with it again and spot all the inevitable differences they introduce in the new game.
Also, the game play footage on the remake looks DARK. I wonder if you move into brighter environments as you progress or if the torch is going to be your best friend for the entire game.
@kyleforrester87 i have the Dreamcast Version of RE2, it was my first Resi game and i loved it (the Dreamcast version even had an Easy Mode that gave you a UZI with unlimited ammo) so i'm really looking forward to the Remake and i'm glad it's using the Resi 4-6 style of gameplay and that they are mixing up the item and enemy locations
as for Dark yeah it's very dark but i imagine you will have brightness options, the other did

@FullbringIchigo well, I won't crank up the brightness just to see better, if it's supposed to be dark I don't mind playing it like that. But still, I assume there will be brighter environments where you don't need to use your torch for whole sections.
Resi 2 on Dreamcast and N64.. just sounds wrong!! :')
@kyleforrester87 dreamcast version was awesome, it eve looked and sounded better than the PS1 version too

@kyleforrester87 That's exactly what I'm doing. I need to get used to those awful controls again, though, I've already died a few times trying to escape the horde of zombies on the very beginning street.
Looking forward to it, never finished it the first time round, I will this time. Got to buy it day one, not only because it looks awesome but would like to encourage a RE3 Nemesis remake. Loved that game.
@ApostateMage@kyleforrester87 Oh yeah sorry i knew you were on about playing the og re 2, but my fuzzy logic thought you were preparing for the bad controls in the remake.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

@KratosMD it's got Resi 4s over the shoulder view going on so you should dig it.
It's a shame you didn't like the older ones because of the controls, they have really fun stories and characters. But I can see why they are difficult to approach if you didn't play them at the time. And even at the time people struggled with them to be fair.
