Topic: Secret of Mana discussion!

So is anyone else excited about the upcoming remake of Secret of Mana which will be releasing in February 2018 on both the PS Vita and PS4?

Let's move this to the PS4 section as people will probably look for it there rather then the Vita section.

As someone who has played through (but only finished once) several times on the SNES I am excited for it. I also hope that if it sells well that maybe they will also port Seiken Densetsu III (Secret of Mana 2).

I absolutely love secret of mana. Not sure I'm 100% sold on the graphical style. I'll need to see more to decide.

I've never played the original so I'm looking forward to this.

Love the original - really dislike the new graphical style from what we saw so far. They should include the classic version imho.

well i liked Mystic Quest (what the Original was released under in Europe) but it's been years since i played it so yeah i'm excited for the remake

@Fight_Teza_Fight SoM is not so much an RPG as it's an adventure game like Zelda.

@Tasuki That sounds like an even better fit for my Vita.

It would be nice if they included the original game. Might be the only way I'd be tempted to purchase it for full price, otherwise I'd have to hold out for a sale.

@KratosMD Secret of Mana is alot better. Adventure was the first game in the series and honestly hasn't aged well. If you have a Wii or Wii U it's available on the VC there and I think its only like $10

@ztpayne7 @Feena Square Enix showcased some gameplay the other day and the artstyle shown is mostly indicative of the cut-scenes and the gameplay itself is still top-down and looks much closer to the original just with alot more detail, also the game will have a mini-map in the top-right corner of the screen!

@Reanfan7 I'll be playing it for sure - maybe I'll just wait for it to go on sale since I already get the original with the Snes mini. It will be a lot of fun playing it online!

@Feena Wait, WHAT?! It'll have online multiplayer?! That is AWESOME!

I guess GameStop will be getting limited amount of physical copies in at least here in the States, not sure about Europe. As of now you have to preorder it from GameStop to get it because of it's limited availability I am not sure if they will have any for sale on launch day.

how much space is this going to be on the vita

Two days more to go till this is released I am.getting excited. Thinking of maybe running through the original here to help ease the wait.

It’s a bit expensive, but I’m also looking forward to it. I’ll be getting the Vita version, which unless I missed it being delayed, should launch on the same day.
It’s worrying that it’s not available for preorder despite the PS4 version being up for months now.

really looking forward to this, one of my favourite JRPGs of all time, its the game that started my love of the genre!

@suikoden That's kinda odd as it's not really a JRPG, it's more of an action/adventure game like Zelda.

Anyway started playing this tonight with my son and I am really enjoying it. I am a bit mixed on the remix of the music in this game though some of them I like others not so much. Still though playing through it does bring back memories for me and I am very pleased with this remake.

The PSVita version didn't go live till this morning, so I just bought it.
Happy to see that the portable version is £8 cheaper .
Hoping to put some time into it tonight.
