@jdv95 And as I continued, the first I did was pick up two arrows. Foreshadowing lol. I think I'm about to find it.

@Octane it's in the early part of day 2 (hillcrest) so yeah you should not be far off now.

@jdv95 Yeah, found it. Thanks. All I had to do was play five more minutes lol.

@Octane What will we do when loading screens are a thing of the past?

Certainly used some molotovs and trap mines in the Tunnels.

I've not played The Last of Us but am interested to try The Last of Us 2. Does the first game need to be played for the sequel to make sense, or can I jump right in? Thanks for any advice.

Though in terms of relating, Ellie's only 4 years older and is still a teenager so it's not all that different. Her personality in the original wouldn't have been that unusual for an 18 year old, either, even though she was 14. On a weird way, she kund of seems less mature now since she's a lot more angsty and typically teenagery.

I’m not sure can call Ellie a typical teenager after all she’s been through. Killing people and hunting infected as a daily form of her existence, isn’t very typical. And if you think about what environment she has to grow up in, and what’s she’s had to endure, there is nothing typical. I think ND is doing a fine job trying to get us to understand what it might be like to live in a post-zombie virus infectious world that went to crap. We have no reference, though it seems scarier and more relevant give our current world order.

@klky Yeah, I think you'd lose quite a bit of nuance if you don't play the first one. The first one is pretty cheap though.

@klky The story of the second one is directly tied into the story of the first one. It's not like a sequel where it's just another adventure with the same characters - it's a continuation, hence the Part II bit.

Just finished Seattle day 3 and I still think the story is amazing, if anything I'm happier that they have done this rather than Ellie and Joel go off and some adventure together. If I have a complaint it would be the dodgy pacing of day 2, the first day is fantastic with the open area and the map but from then onwards you're very much funnelled down a path and there wasn't much story happening until the end of it, day 3 picked up the pace once again though and was a treat. Easy 9 for me so far and possibly a 10

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

@carlos82 I've just started Day 3 and it's great so far, Some of the sequences have blown me away up to this point. Don't get to spend much time gaming after work so a large chunk of my playtime will be at weekends.

For me this is even better than the first game although I'll have to finish it first before I give my final thoughts!

@MightyDemon82 Day 3 is a wild ride, as a parent to a 3 year old its been a long time since a game got me to stay up much past 10, let alone 1 in the morning.

I'd also say this is a better game than the original, initially the gameplay doesn't seem like its changed much but the added stealth options and jumping really change the dynamics of the encounters and the exploration is a lot better and more rewarding

My thoughts about killing dogs in TLOU 2...
BEFORE: "Hope I can just stun or avoid them, no way I'm gonna kill them since I love dogs."
AFTER: "Die you *****! ", "Smell this!" and "Burn in hell!"

@ApostateMage @andreoni79 same here but then I got to a certain part of the game which made me feel a right prick for doing so

My favourite trick was to use their tracking against them and put down a proximity mine

That's what's I've been doing, and you're likely to take down the accompanying human as well! Brilliant!

@andreoni79 I am only about four hours in (and liking it so far), but I wanted to say that I am also having some trouble with soft audio. Most of the time it is fine, but in the first few hours I missed a line here or there because the dialogue was so soft.

I don't often use subtitles in games-I find them immersion breaking. But I reluctantly switched them on in this game and I am glad I did. Now I can proceed, confident that I am not missing anything from the characters.

@andreoni79 Yes, exactly! They definitely change up the encounters significantly. I wonder if there will be infected dogs?

@carlos82 I never thought of doing that. Really need to use all the tools more.
