@Jackpaza0508 Yeah, I posted my thoughts on the game in another thread but essentially it’s just a good fun game. And being a remake of an older game, it’s nice to play something that’s all wrapped up in around 10hrs rather than grinding out double that for no reason.
After finishing the main story of my second playthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn (and what an ending it is!), I have just started The Frozen Wilds and had my first encounter with one of the new machines. Wow, this thing wasn't messing around. If I'd hadn't been wearing the Shield-Weaver armour my arse would've been handed to me on a plate!
Stunning location as well, definitely feels like I'm going to enjoy this.
@Col_McCafferty Will do i played it for 100 hours and i just wanted too play something else. I think ill pass playing it on the hardest difficulty not because its bad but a big BL you know. The DLC is no issue i have not played that yet.
@Col_McCafferty Nice man, you made it to Frozen Wilds! How are you liking the new weapons? The news enemies ripped me a new one without that armor. I absolutely loved the snow effects, probably the best I've seen.
@colonelkilgore Man idk why I'm just seeing your comment from Friday, but man Kojima's masterpiece was calling your name too huh? I don't know why but I had an itch to play a retro game and I don't think I could've picked better.
@TheBrandedSwordsman I finished MGS2 and it left me with many thoughts and emotions. That game is literally 20 years old and still manages to be immersive. But at times it was frustrating how clunky it feels after playing so many modern games, but once you get used to it its fine. We've gotten very used to the general aim and shoot controls with L2/R2.
One of the big mechanics in this game is to go into first person view by pressing R1 and the attack button is square. So to shoot an enemy you have to position yourself looking in their direction, hold R1 for first person view, then press square to fire. Talk about taking some getting used to, not to mention that game has fixed camera angles. Honestly I came out the other end being a huge MGS fan and wondering how I let this series fly by me. I could go on and on with aspects of this 2001 game that amazed me, but I don't wanna leave Harry Potter book for you to read. Currently in the middle of MGS3, and once again I find myself immersed in a game from 2004.
@Kopite Hollow Knight is such an awesome little game, you're gonna have a blast once you fight some bosses and get their abilities. One piece of advice I can give you is to never take a break from this game. About a year and a half ago I lost about 2000 coins and I set the game down. After trying to pick it up some time later I felt very lost and completely forgot what I was doing or where I was going last.
@Thrillho At first I wasn't a fan of all the new mechanics (camouflage, food, and cure) but I was relieved that the game had a free camera. In my playthrough yesterday I really got into it and my perspective changed. At first I had to use my camo to blend in green environments, then switch over for brown environments. I think what made me like it is that the game suggests the feature but doesn't force you. It was a genuine thought of mine to change camo and it's little things like that which makes the immersion still stand up today. One thing that bugs me is Snake's movement speed, sheesh he moves like a snail.
I was sneaking through an enemy base when all of a sudden I hear a growl, now I was crawling past a dog so I thought it was just the audio queue they selected for dogs. Once I get in the building I hear it again, and I'm like "Was that just my stomach growling??" Sure enough I look up at the stamina bar and I needed to eat. Immersion. After I filled up, my stamina bar was decreasing at a rapid rate, more than what I had snakes to eat. So after running out of food and mid combat I take a gunshot wound. So I open the cure menu to do surgery on the wound, and it turns out I HAD LEECHES ON ME. Blew my mind haha, slowly becoming a favorite of all time.
To give perspective on where I am I just fought The Pain and infiltrated the base to find Sokolov. Also side note it's really cool to play the future in MGS2 then go back and see character development in people like Ocelot.
@Thrillho I'm don't have the skill or patience or a no kill run. But I will say in MGS2 my Raiden didn't give a flying care xD, everyone got a piece of that USP45. But on 3 I find myself putting more enemies to sleep and also non lethal on bosses.
Rotten food? I can't say I've found any. Can I make food in my inventory rot?
@TraCuz- I'm around 5 hours in and really enjoying it, don't really know where I'm going but I've got the dash and wall jump which is making it more fun to get around
@TraCuz- well I’ve only played 5 and Peace Walker so far. I hope to have played MGS, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4 and MG Rising by the end of the year though. Sounds like you really enjoyed 2... I’m looking forward to it.
@TraCuz- If you hold onto food for too long it goes rotten and doesn’t go well for Snake if you eat it!
I don’t think I played any of MGS2-4 any other way than no-kill as it just feels wrong! Even 5 I did it as much as possible.
One of the greatest boss fights in the series is in 3 and is fiendish to finish non-lethally but taking bosses down like that gives you bonus camo or weapons from what I remember.
@TraCuz Hey man, busy few days with it being the Bank holiday and busy at work so not got as much done as I'd like on FF VII remake, I did manage to complete chapter's 9 and 10, only did 10 last night.
Chapter 9 was.....well how do I explain this.....different lol typical jrpg nonsense, the first time in the game that I believe somebody new to the jrpg genre or the game its self would be like wtf? Also trying to appease its Western audience with some little subtle references or mabye that's just been done during translation. Any way probably my least favourite chapter as I'd rather be fighting, I know people love the whole karaoke/dancing parts of Yakuza but they work better in that game just didn't seem right plonked in the middle of this.
Chapter 10 solid start in the sewers and I felt straight back in to the game with this Chapter, I've already mentioned it but the characters to me at least just seem so much more fleshed out and interesting which makes me enjoy this a little more than the original (insert gasps/scolds and frowns).
@Kopite Nice! I remember liking that feeling of being lost, and having to stop every so often to check the map. Both the dash and wall jump are game changing haha, you might end up making it further than I did. Hope you continue to enjoy!
