My mum’s now onto Black Flag after finishing, and really enjoying, Assassin’s Creed III. She’s not quite sold on the ship stuff yet but the environments are really beautiful and you forget how many great actors are in the voice cast. Also realised that one of the sea shanties is the same tune as ‘Come Out Ye Black And Tans’ which made us laugh!
I'm not generally the biggest Falcom fan, but Ys VIII was shockingly good, even thought I primarily experienced it through the questionable Switch port. Absolutely loved everything about it.
BTW, I've noticed the sale price has gone up dramatically since they announced the PS65 port, lol.
@Sam_ATLUS i''m also playing through that one now. i'm very far in and absolutely loving the game. The action and music are all very good and the story while starting slow is pretty good as well.
@Ralizah I'm about 7 hours in and really enjoying it. I'm playing on PS5 and honestly I don't think the game needs a PS5 release, it looks pretty good for me and even with tips the loading times are nearly instant. Glad I got a copy cheap before they went up. I'm gonna play Ys IX when I'm finished with it and look at other Falcom games to try.
@Lavalera I got to the first area and the music impressed me immediately with how good it was especially for that early on. Combat is fun too and the story is taking it's time to build up but still fun discovering new areas in the island and rescuing all these characters.
... My internet has been really spotty the past few weeks (Hence why I wasn't here) and the CMOS battery (I think that's the name?) went in my PS3 so I couldn't authenticate the time and date & play Legend Of Dragoon on PS3 ... So I ended up playing this (Though I really should've resumed played FFIX)
I've really powered through this though.
I'm at the Diet building already at only 33 hours or so of play
Which honestly feels very off to me as it feels easier on normal (even if I've played this numerous times on PS2), I feel like I'm overlevelled too (with me trying to not do too many battles) and the game has felt wwwwaaaaaay shorter so far too.
Trying to go for the neutral/Freedom/Rebirth? route (I'm not actually sure of the canon name for it) that I've never got before.
... And then True Demon End cus of course I am 😈
Gotta admit I've been pretty impressed with the voice acting actually as I'm so used to playing it without it.
In fact I'd say almost all of them feel right for the character too (Especially Chiaki and Isamu's VA's) though the shopkeepers though can really grate with their repetitive canned responses.
▪ I didn't think much of Hikawa's VA at first but I think I've warmed up to him a little and his performance.
▪I think Futomimi's isn't great though and I'm a bit mixed at Sakahagi too.
▪ Talesin Jaffe as the Cathedral of Shadows guy feels weird. But he's pretty hammy in the role too and it works despite it being a bit jarring to me personally lol
Honestly there's a LOT more voice acting then I was expecting which is really nice. Even if Nocturne doesn't have reams and reams of character dialogue it does add quite a bit to the experience I've found (and was quite happy with the PS2's no voice acting).
Oh ... Dante's the better guest (and honestly fits the setting better too (sorry Raidou)). Real shame he's locked behind DLC unlike the PS2 version though I guess I can understand the reasoning (even if I don't like it (or Atlus' DLC practices in general))
@KidBoruto Ouch, yeah, you've got a lot of tidying up to do there. I think LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is one of the better LEGO games, but it's definitely got 20% more busywork than it needs. Good luck with it all, and kudos for keeping the last mission 'til last, as well.
Sadly I got impatient and already cleared the final story mission lol. I'm still working towards the 100% though, it's an easy platinum just VERY time consuming.
@jdv95 I always found the pool games really difficult in Yakuza, no matter what the level. Are you aiming for the platinum then if you're spending so long on that one activity?
Completed Little Nightmares and the DLC levels, a really fun and enjoyable little game, the atmosphere and audio are fantastic well worth the £3 sale price, it took about 4 hours to get through everything. Will most definitely play the 2nd one when it goes on sale.
Mass Effect 3 playthrough is now coming to an end, I am on the last mission Priorty Earth and well ill be honest I'm almost not ready for this journey to end but at the same time will be glad to be able to start something new. I have noticed a few differences with the Legendary Edition going into this final mission, the original didn't have some of the cutscenes and stuff but I never did any of the DLC'S last time either and they play such a vital role that its to be expected.
I’m currently making my way through .hack//G.U. Last Recode. I’ve just finished Vol. 1, now making my way through Vol. 2. It’s a decent enough game, but I can definitely see myself getting burnt out before I’m done with it. Started it now though, so I have to finish it.

Do you have any experience with the other games or the various anime series?
I can understand being burnt out if this is your first time trying out anything Dot Hack.
