Epic Chef
Have accumulated more than 20 hours gameplay.
I enjoyed the game so far as the calculating numbers of Vigor, Spirit and Sophistication points +Judge's Taste + Aroma point will determine who win who lose. I quickly understand how to make (bizarre) dishes with very high point on either Sophistication or Spirit as dishes with high Spirit or Sophistication points were easier to be made than high Vigor point dishes. The key is determining which ingredients should be put first then 2nd ingredients and 3rd ingredients. Sauce for finishing touch to add more points of specific attributes or will plus / minus the points during judging. Also, I enjoyed the storyline despite there were quite a lot rude dialogues and hilarious moments.
Playing Okami HD for PS4. The main character is totally a good girl: with smooth controls and an interesting way of story-telling, the game deserves to be loved for how good it is (so far). Still, using the spiritual paint brush to progress feels kind of awkward, or maybe its just me?
Also, I would have liked if they had included mapping the controls, as more often than not I end up doing a missinput on combat sequences.
Literally just kicked off Horizon Zero Dawn... ahead of playing Forbidden West later this year!
Impressions so far seem great, and the narrative/cinematics are very impressive.
I've picked 'very hard' difficulty, and will see how I get on with this. I played Ghost-of-T recently on 'Lethal' and felt this was a nice mix of challenge/reward,
@CJD87 I recently replayed HZD on PS5 and I thought it still help up really well. The combat takes some getting used to but is really satisfying when you get to grips with all the different weapons.
@Thrillho Cheers man, really looking forward to getting stuck in tonight!
Out of interest, what difficulty did you play on? I've started to become slightly masochistic with my gameplay tastes, with Returnal being my personal GOTY from 2021...
I do love a good story also though, and was blown away by Ghost.
Originally I'd planned to blitz this on 'easy' and just use HZD as a gateway to playing FW. But so many people have told me HZD still stands up today, so I plan to take my time with the opening hours and then potentially decide to platinum..!
@CJD87 great games the both of them. I played both on normal and found that they both felt a little easy by the time I got over halfway through… the initial parts still felt quite challenging though. Good luck on very hard, it could be real tough until you start to get to grips with everything and begin to level up.
@CJD87 Hope you really enjoy the game as much as I did. My wife recently played it through and reminded me just how good the story was and how good the game looks at 60fps on PS5. Makes you realise what good a job they did getting a game to look this good on a PS4.
@colonelkilgore Oh wow you’ve scared me mate, I might dial it down to regular ‘hard’ and see how I get on! I’m looking forward to hopefully soon hearing your thoughts on both Returnal and Hades, honestly think you will adore them
@render@render Oh for sure man, the graphics really hold up in 2022 - this game must have blown minds upon release. Shame it got overshadowed by BOTW…. Similar I guess to Elden Ring taking the thunder from HFW. All great games!
@CJD87 Yeah all good games. Seems that there always has to be a competition to decide a winner but that doesn’t have to be the case. They can all be enjoyed and all have positive and negative points. Good luck with ZD anyway 👍
The difficulty does spike in places; some machines are absolutely brutal but human encounters can be a bit awkward and difficult when they shouldn’t be.
The platinum isn’t a difficult one either. Most of the stuff will come fairly naturally if you’re a completionist like me, it just takes a little extra effort for some of the collectibles.
And yeah, the game still looks amazing! The 60fps patch definitely helps though
Still playing Epic Chef and I have unlocked Pangu bird, that freaky Bird which made a loud scream in the morning and Zest was really hate that. Basically Pangu is a chicken in Epic Chef.
I have expanded my farm size so I can get more money by planting more Potatoes and Evil Mandragora plants to make Ghostatoes by Mixer gadget with selling price 250 Escudos for each.
@CJD87 ahh, I’m sure you’ll be fine mate… if anything, it’ll just teach you to learn the systems even quicker than muddling through on a lesser difficulty.
The Order 1886. Got as far as the Zeppelin crashing, before uninstalling. I tried, I really tried, but I just couldn't warm up to the game. Too much 'walking through treacle' and the gunplay was half-hearted at best. But it looked nice, and had an interesting premise, just not enough to keep me hooked.
Still playing Mass Effect 3, very close to the end now and just doing the citadel dlc for the first time after doing the Leviathan DLC for the first ever time.
When I played them originally when they were released the DLCs weren't available and for a long time I was against DLC's as I seen them as a bit of a con, until Horizon Zero Dawn, that was the first time I did DLC and thought wow this really did feel part of the game and necessary.
Anyway as I've been doing the dlc on mass effect for the first time I've realised (especially for ME3) just how important the actually DLC content actually is, I mean most of it feels like it was actually intended to be part of the story, especially picking up Javick and the leviathan story seem now an integral part of the game and the whole story.
Should DLC like this be part of the game that we get anyway, I mean if its so critical wouldn't you as a game developer want all players to have access to it.
I'm all for DLC that you pay for that is extra weapons, cosmetics and extra missions to continue enjoying the experience, a bit like the Ghost of Tsushima dlc or the Assassins Creed Oddesy DLC which adds an extra layer if your still wanting more out of that particular game but for something like the leviathan dlc which seems such an integral part of the story and almost like they couldn't fit it in, in time for release should we be expected to pay for stuff like this?
Disclaimer, this isn't a whinge or anything I absolutely love Mass Effect, its one if my favourite gaming trilogies of all time, just more of a thought/reflection
@MaulTsir The Shadow Broker DLC for ME2 is also mightily impressive and fairly important to the whole story. Luckily that was included in the game that released on PS3.
The Arrival DLC was also great and a perfect bridge from ME2 to ME3.
Epic Chef
My Zest was already level 50, have unlocked some Synergy bonus for certain ingredients.
Still have to work on raising the Restaurant Prestige points until 50 to continue the storyline.
@RogerRoger
I played Epic Chef PS4 just now. 😉
I continued the storyline progress to hunt the Dragon to get Dragon egg for Cooking Battle with Exotico and Fantasia as my opponents.
Thinking the right combination of ingredients to create dishes with high points on Vigor or Spirit or Sophistication flavor was pretty challenging as the judging taste and dishes wroma will determine who will win the cooking battle.
It was about Math, calculating the number of flavors in addition, subtraction and multiplication.
I really need to transfer this from my PS4 to my PS5 and give the game another shot at some point this year. I tried it on my Xbox a year or two ago and it just didn't click with me for some reason, despite loving the first two games. Maybe I'm just meant to play them on PlayStation or something.
