I'm getting better at this now, I've done the 3 leauges in 2048 but only elite passed 50%, going to see if I can get them all yellow before moving on to HD. I know it's gunna be tough though.

Anyone else playing through specifically 2048? If so add me to your friends list, It's nice to have some times to beat. I was focusing on trying to beat @Quintumply but he hasn't finished all of the courses

OK as someone who has never played a Wipeout game, is this collection a good place to start?

"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"

"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!

@kyleforrester87 I decided to have a crack at some of the HD campaign to familiarise myself with its tracks, as they're very different from 2048's. I might carry on with the last stretch of 2048 next

@FullbringIchigo This is a great place to start. You're getting a lot of bang for your buck with three decent length single player campaigns, and the online from my experience works excellently. 2048 is cool because it has quite intricate courses with fairly wide tracks and lots of alternate paths. HD and Fury are closer to traditional WipEout, which have more direct, narrower tracks. WipEout can be a difficult game to get into because its controls are very different from most other racers, but once it clicks, it's a lot of fun.

@FullbringIchigo Prior to this I hadn't played Wipeout for 20 years. This is a great place to start with all content being new for those who haven't played it in years/forever.

I'm on 2050 now, so have (mostly awful) times for the first 2 campaigns. I'll add you later, I'm always up for some racing if I'm online.

Any tips on zone events? Some of the elite passes are brutal. I'm using the AG systems ship with 100 handling, wondering if I should go with a higher health ship to absorb damage at the mach speeds though. Any idea if the ships have the same health across the board on the zone races?

@Feena 65?! I start losing it after around 40+ zones. As for the game itself, I'm loving it. A really polished remake of a series.

I think both the trophies and difficulty are too hard for 2048. You can alter the difficulty in the other editions and skilled is my preferred choice. I'm at the last race in the 2049 season and it's a nightmare. It's been a proper struggle reaching here and not in a good way.

The trophies are basically a check list for pro players. Everyone else may as well not bother looking.

@themcnoisy I completed the three leagues in 48 without much sweat, getting them all elite passes on the other hand is going to be hard. I've got about 50% across the three leagues.

It is very very hard but you do keep getting better and better.

I do quite well with the music off and just the sound of the engines if I'm struggling.

I think I'm going mad. Can anyone confirm for me that their left thumbstick works in the menu/selection screens?
Mine has stopped working (was weird in a few races, but fine now in-game), but only in the menus. Can only use d-pad to navigate menus. Was it always this way or am I losing the plot?

@CountFunkula78 I'm pretty sure it is always like that, though I noticed the same thing.. so we can't both have the same issue lol.

That said I only use the dpad now for racing, there's too much "dead space" between yanking the stick left and right. Dpad all the way, it's easier to knock out the barrel roles too.

And while we are talking controls I like Square as accelerate, the position is more comfortable for my thumb as you don't have to keep it bent. X for use item and triangle for absorb which is kinda a pain but it's generally not something you need to do urgently so it's ok. I keep absorbing mid corner and throwing my line out when I should just wait for a straight.

Really trying to get the hang of side shifting for repositioning during corners. I think it's most useful to bring you back toward the inside of a bend when you're running wide without having to try to tighten your turn and lose speed.

@CountFunkula78 yeah I noticed that too. I'm pretty sure my stick moved the level select then it stopped. 😂 snap.
