@Pditty1980 Lol, I think he’s being sarcastic as there is no game that is off the table as a possible future PS Plus game. Well... except maybe something like one of those niche Japanese games that have to be censored in order to come to the West. Maybe that’s what John likes. 😅

@Pditty1980@Th3solution Yup. Games come to PS Plus all the time and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. The only thing different about this instance is that it's a "new" game and they could really have let people know a bit sooner, and there was some prior drama with the PS5 upgrade. Much ado about nothing for me.
@Rudy_Manchego Slightly overrated, but at the same time it never got the attention it deserves. Weird case of both lol. Was it popular at all? I played it, but I didn't see much conversation about it online.
@Th3solution 505 Games would have recieved a fee for having Control on plus, so if it was on there earlier, it would be upto them to thrash it over with Sony for the what they felt is the right amount. Plus (no pun intended) it has been said that games recieve a boost in sales after they have been on the service.
@Octane I think it recieved a few GOTY awards and nominations, so maybe that is where @Rudy_Manchego was coming from?
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@Octane@JohnnyShoulder Exactly that - I saw some GOTY nominations and I think I saw a few people on forums, possibly here (could be mad), praise it heavily.
It was a solid game, that was both fun and repetitve, that had a cool premise and world but at the same time, quite a mundane story and main character.
It might be that I have a problem with game stories where the main character gets dragged into some seriously crazy stuff that they aren't used to (e.g. killing countless weird possessed bodies with a shape shifting gun) and be rather non-plussed about it all. I even think it has the line.. I Know I should find this weird but I don't.
Sigh. Moan over.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@JohnnyShoulder I’m surprised that games get a boost in sales after being on Plus. I can see that being the case for some titles getting word-of-mouth advertising I guess. Personally, I can’t think of a single game I’ve bought after it was a Plus game. But of course I’m a Plus subscriber for several years so I’m a poor judge of that.
There is definitely an online buzz that a game often captures when the Plus hoards start playing it. I think Bloodborne specifically got a second wind (or a third or fourth wind) when I was on Plus. Also saw it with Battlefront II getting a jolt in the arm from Plus.

I don't see the issue. PS+ memberships are required to access the game, yes? So you still have to pay to own the PS5 version.
@Tasuki is right. This is the gamble you take with a service like PS+ if you also buy games for the system.
Which isn't to say that I don't understand anger over people who were screwed over by the timing of this, but 505 Games was very obviously screwing people over anyway. Remember a few months back when they accidentally offered free access to the ultimate edition of the game for deluxe edition owners?
Take note of the publishers who don't play fair, and treat them accordingly. Buy their games for as little as possible in used form, and encourage others you know to do the same. Used sales hurt these companies worse than piracy, and it's perfectly legal to do.
@Rudy_Manchego Thematically it was right up my alley. The game structure itself (metroidvania) as well. I quite liked it, but the frame drops were a bit annoying. I also wished they went more into the lore. Give me a possessed toilet or something. I wanted more, but that's also a good thing.
@Octane Yeah, I liked the game well enough but it needed more. It felt as if it scraped up against interesting lore, giving us little bits and teasing far more interesting stories than what we were playing.
@nessisonett Exactly! There's definitely potential for a sequel.
In a way it felt a bit like a film adaptation of a book, the film adaptations are never as in-depth as the source material. And it feels like there's a Control book or something where they pulled all this lore out, but couldn't fit everything in the game.
@Octane I hate when games do that sorta thing, I found out in between Assassin’s Creed games that apparently the entire modern day plot had been resolved in comic books that I hadn’t read 😂
I think the true moral of the story is, don't buy anything now so you can get the ps5 version later. If you look at the price patterns on PSPrices you'll see that there's a pretty predictable pattern - if something's in a sale now, it's going to be on sale for almost as cheap, if not cheaper, some time soon. Just wait until you're actually wanting/able to play the game and then buy it then. I was seriously considering buying Metro Exodus in the current sale for the PS5 upgrade but, having also succumbed to Control Ultimate in the black Friday sale, I've decided to just wait instead. Given what PS plus has been like recently it could easily be a PS plus game at some point - and if it isn't I'll just buy it when I'm ready to play it
I was really loving this game, i avoided it for ages because of mixed reviews but it's great fun with a cool story. BUT i have encountered a game breaking bug the quarry control point is accessible but it acts like i didn't cleanse it so i can't proceed and the save system doesn't help as it doesn't have earlier saves...
Can't think of anything good to put here just yet, watch this space...
