One thing I’m really enjoying is the abundance of Welsh accents. Not often you hear them in a game!

@velio84 I ended up there last night, had a few swipes at the golem thing, but as I was only doing chip damage (even with Bloody Slash), I gave up and continued on my journey elsewhere.

Cleared Castle Mourne. Well that was a sad ending. And made a bit of progress in Stormveil and managed to get an npc back to the round table.

I totally missed the fact the Weeping Peninsula existed. Went back and cleared everything there including getting the brilliant greatsword after beating that rather pathetic boss! Now to decide between going further into Volcano Manor or going inside the capital…

Been playing it for five hours and I absolutely adore it. The game is massive and gorgeous, and the open world is giving me exactly the same feeling that Breath of the Wild did, where I'm running towards something and looking around and I'm like "ooh that looks cool let's see what's ther-OMG WHAT'S THERE!?" and I go on about fifteen different tangents, it's amazing.

Quick question - I've seen online that the first "main dungeon" is Stormveil Castle. I love the difficulty in From Software games, but am a bit concerned about exploring Limgrave too much and overlevelling before going to Stormveil and it being a cakewalk. I'm currently in my low level 20s, should I head to Stormveil soon, or leave it until I'm happy with how much of Limgrave I've explored? For context, I've only really fully explored the central and east area of Limgrave, there's a lot left I haven't seen! I'm just worried about ruining the natural progression of the game for myself

@velio84 I’ve been playing a hybrid build melee prime with some spells. My main issue with spells so far is that there are lots of spells but really the only useful one so far is glintstone pebble and the weapon buff. Everything else is very inefficient.

@velio84 Yeah, that is the one! It is not what you think, and wasn't too bad. It will be a good training run of sorts for Stormveil.

@JohnnyShoulder - Sounds similar to a boss I found earlier; stabs, magic, and slashes all failed to do any meaningful damage, and it was only when I tried strike damage that I was able to do anything (it also stunlocked them, which was a nice bonus) so if it helps, it might be good to try a different type of weapon.

@BranJ0 - That’s probably a decent level for Stormveil, but you can probably get away with a few more levels before you start to get overlevelled (though from experience, it’s really the level of your weapons that makes the bigger difference there).

Started going through the academy earlier,, and made it about halfway (I think). Unlike the previous areas, this felt like I’d gone back to Bloodborne, compete with the focus on dodging over blocking, which, as someone who’d been using shields up to that point, was a bit of a nasty surprise. The first boss was the same; attempting to block its attacks got me nowhere, as it tore through my stamina with ease, but as soon as I went back into Bloodborne mode, things became much easier.
Be interesting to see how the second half goes.

@BranJ0 I was low-20s when I beat Stormveil's boss, so you're in a good range for that dungeon.

@FullMetalWesker Those crystalians are a nightmare for me since I’m a greatsword and curved greatsword user! Ended up killing them in one combo though, just hold down L2 with the chainlink flail 😂

Spiked club is really good as a backup weapon. Causes bleed, is strike dmg. I would main it if not for the range.

@velio84 @FullMetalWesker @Ralizah Thanks for the replies guys! I think I'm going to go to stormveil after I beat the boss I'm currently fighting, bloodhound knight darriwil

Anyone else beaten Elemer of the Briar yet? Hardest boss I’ve come across the whole game so far but finally beat it earlier!

Is it just me, or do you get too many tears? My flask heals for more than my whole HP bar, and I have 20 vigor.

@kyleforrester87 they’re at like every church IIRC. I’m basically cleared liurnia and IIRC at +6 or +7…. Like I said even from a sliver of health I go to max, with 20 vigor.

So I had my first little go tonight… and as expected it’s awesome. Loving the transition of souls combat and esotericism into an open-world. I did a decent bit of exploring and seemed to turn up some cool locations, enemies and collectibles. Really didn’t want to put the controller down by the end but I have a day off tomorrow to fully immerse myself.

I’VE PEAKED! Accidentally found Godfrey, First Elden Lord while exploring and was really worried about dropping my 35000 runes, only had 6 flasks left. Beat it my first try. That’s it, I’m done, I’ll never top that 😂

@nessisonett nice work! That’s usually the emotion I’m processing before being impaled by a humble foot soldier…

@nessisonett Nice work! That had to have been harrowing.

In slightly more pathetic news, I somehow seem to have hit a wall with the Draconic Tree Sentinel in the Capital Outskirts. He keeps one-shotting me with his lightning attacks. Very, very frustrating. Probably died 20 times to him tonight. Ugh.

@Ralizah It was incredibly terrifying! But thanks, glad to sorta move on with that area although I’ve halfway completed 3 different main quest progression areas now. Also, the Draconic Tree Sentinel killed me in one hit with that lightning too, so I just ended up doing it without getting hit by that attack. Just keep moving and you’ll honestly be fine, it’s the quick fire lightning that’s the real problem.
