@FullMetalWesker Cheers, I'll bear that in mind when I go back and if I'm still struggling I'll try another weapon. However, I've killed the same type of enemy no problems previously.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

@Herculean
Hi man. Glad your enjoying as much as I do.
I’m not expert and I have no interest in magic so I can only talk about grounded (what people call melee for some reason even if you can use a bow which helps a lot).
I think it’s important to find a good weapon you like and be sure it’s worth investing in (as in unlikely you find a better one soon).
Then you can upgrade it (finding the good mines is key) and use ash of war to see what you want it to scale with. Then you know what stat to level up to optimise that weapon.
Just my view and everyone can play in a different way which is why the game is fun with options fitting your play style.

The crowd, accepting this immediately, assumed the anti-Eurasian posters and banners everywhere were the result of acts of sabotage by agents of Goldstein and ripped them from the walls.

@lolwhatno If I get it, I will make sure to let everyone here know. If I do need to summon help, trust me I'm doing it, After I read that interview, I have a whole new mindset of what this game is.

@lolwhatno I'm sure you are going to love it when you get it. The UX could do with some improvements though 😉

I've not put a great deal of time in yet but have done a few 2 hour sessions. Loving the fact that there's lots of things out there that look doable but turn out to be my demise. I've just been wandering around and levelling up my character so far in the hope that I'll be man enough to take on the Tree Sentinel soon. He seems fun!

It really is everything I’d hoped for… and I had high hopes. Just got through Stormveil Castle and what an incredible piece of level design that was.

Difficulty-wise… I’d say on the whole I’m finding it around the ‘same’ level of difficulty that I experience in all From games… though I did find Margit difficult, his second phase was just really tricky for me to read. But by contrast I then found Godrick the Grafted fine and beat him first time. If I know souls (or ‘runes’) though, I’d imagine just as many people found the former easy and the latter more difficult.

I know it’s way to early to say… but I can’t help it… I kinda hoped (with a degree of educated understanding of what I like… and what From produce) that this would end up being my favourite game of all time (it’s currently Bloodborne).., and I’m getting more and more confident by the hour that it will be.

@colonelkilgore I can't imagine making that kind of progress in as short a time as you have. Did you spent a lot of time initially just farming runes?

colonelkilgore

@render so the only time I really farmed runes was before the Godrick fight as I fount the previous boss (Margit) so tricky. So I think I found Godrick when I was around lvl 26/27… and I thought, let’s try and get myself to around 30 for this one. Looking back, I probably should’ve just gone for it.

@JohnnyShoulder “Cleared Castle Mourne. Well that was a sad ending.”

I’ve just discovered that this quest keeps going! Not sure if it will get any cheerier though.

@colonelkilgore It’s replaced Bloodborne and become mine! No small feat 😄

Has anyone found a good way to farm smithing stones? I can’t change weapons because I committed too many stones to them.

@Mega-Gazz The mines and tunnels are the way to do it. There’s at least one in each area.

@Mega-Gazz Think you’ll just have to look for the bell bearings that give you stones then, I’ve only found the first one.

@Kairu @colonelkilgore yeah, I think that Bloodborne is still unmatched in the brilliant way that it melds its themes and mechanics together, for example insight and pale blood. That’s not to say that Elden Ring doesn’t do that or does it poorly, far from it! Elden Ring gets the edge for me though in allowing me to truly explore and discover the world at my own pace.
