@colonelkilgore@BearsEatBeets It would be expensive, but I think Sony can afford it to get the attention of dozens of millions of people. Even if it's just the same commercial they are using over there, it would be nice to see the effort since they should treat this as a big deal.
@BearsEatBeets@KilloWertz@jdv95 with the money being thrown around here, Sony must be looking at an extremely high attach-rate.
It’s good to see these properties being treated marketing-wise like a Hollywood blockbuster… they are every bit (& then some) the monumental project to bring to completion.
@colonelkilgore@KilloWertz@jdv95 Yeah Sony must be confident with this one, this could be Spider-man level advertising. And to be honest I think most would agree robot-dinosaurs are a nice easy and very effective attention grabbers. That new Jurassic Park film trailer might add to the hype 😁
in a way this the first "major" major exclusive since the ps5 launched. i get it's cross gen ofcourse but just like miles morales people will go out of their way to play it on ps5.
I think when these rumours were first up in the air about flying mounts, it was stated that it would be close to the end of the game until they appeared in the game, which I think will still probably be the case.
I'm still a little bit sceptical about until we've heard it officially. These 'official' PS mags usually have very tenuous links to PlayStation.
@JohnnyShoulder i'm still wondering if reviews will even be allowed to confirm flying or not. since gurilla themselves are just teasing it without actually confirming anything. unless they reveal it in the launch trailer.
would not be the first time a magazine revealed something it was not supposed to.
If I wanted to read about another game, then I'd visit said game's thread. That's all I'm saying.
Had enough of this vibe that Forbidden West is the hors d'oeuvres whilst Elden Ring is the main course. Maybe for some people but many think the opposite or even have no desire to play Elden Ring anyway.
Soulsborne fans though, they're a different breed. 😉
@jdv95 Damn it. That’s the reason I want to play HFW as soon as it releases as there’s always people out there determined to spoil it for others.
@Col_McCafferty I’m not sure there was ever that vibe round here. It was probably my fault this even came up as I was talking about how it was interesting to see the split between people waiting for HFW compared to ER. I’m personally excited for both but more excited for HFW because I loved ZD so much. They both going to be epic.
@velio84 I try not to set expectations as I don’t like setting myself up for a disappointment… but I’m hoping that you’re not too far off with that. Having said that, it’s almost impossible not to sometimes… and the first major first party blockbuster might just be one of those times, I’m thinking anything above 84% is good with me.
****Disclaimer**** … and yes I guess Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart could/should be considered the first major first party blockbuster… but not for me.
I’m thinking 90 or above. I don’t need a review to know that I’m going to enjoy this a lot but I’ll still read the pushsquare review. I haven’t preordered yet but will do very shortly. I’m torn between saving some money or playing this at midnight Friday 🤔
@Abarth_71 Yeah it’s a good plan. Not sure how much of the 90gb you have to download to start playing though as, like you say, you can only upgrade at midnight. Guess I should be good and get some sleep and play after work on Friday 😆
@render I don't need a review either as my copy will be here on Friday from PlayStation Direct regardless. Obviously it's nice when a game you are highly anticipating is getting fantastic reviews, but I knew I was getting this day 1 when it was announced via the teaser trailer in 2020.
