@velio84 oh yeah the flying mounts are just here for the fans that wanted them. and i'm fine with that tbh. makes me wonder if reviewers have to keep flying a secret.
@velio84 I know his pain as I always found that you'd get on a mount and end up getting straight back off to farm something or speak to an NPC. That was a great thing as well though as there was always something to do. I've just started listening to the skillup review as I quite like his take on games and it sounds like there's going to be a ton of stuff to discover by yourself. I'm really excited by that.
Those fireclaws were complete a holes so I'm not surprised you got destroyed. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to me virtually every encounter with them π. I had a quick look at the trophy list for HFW and it stated that there's no difficulty related trophies so it's gonna be fine to play on normal. I think I might start there too and see what it's like. I don't like things to be too easy as having a challenge is part of the fun but I don't want it to be unnecessarily hard like Kena was.
It looks amazing in the reviews but there's a few mentions of hard resolution scaling on performance mode and pop-in across all modes. It's a shame about that particularly considering the really fast SSD and other optimisations done to the hardware to load data as quick as possible. The problem there is likely that this has to work on the PS4 / Pro as well so the engine likely isn't optimised for it. I'm sure I won't care once I start playing the game though and will definitely be playing in performance mode.
A little disappointed that it looks like the performance mode on PS5 is checkerboarding just like the Pro. No ray-tracing either! At this rate, the PS4 version is a more impressive technical achievement π
@nessisonett As a cross gen game I'm sure they will have had to make certain sacrifices to get this to work across all the hardware. It's still a great looking game though and for me HZD looked that good on a base PS4 that I'm sure this is going to look amazing checkerboard or no. I think the density of the world is the true technical achievement π
It seems like they still haven't figured out facial animations/lip syncing, which is somewhat disappointing given how good they are at doing a lot of things and the many years of development. It was the one major flaw the otherwise amazing first game had.
@Voltan I should read what you'd actually said and see that's what you meant. Hopefully my reply helped though and if you check it should now have been delivered!! π
So are we gonna run a book on the lucky/unlucky bar-stewards who end up receiving the game early/late? From past experience ofβ¦ well my life, Iβm gonna put myself down for late. π€¬
