Hey anybody having issues with the media remote? Picked one up for the wife, day one worked perfectly. Next day it would turn the console on but could not operate anything on the PS5.

I have tried going through the pairing setup again but now it can not even find it lol. Contacted PS5 twitter support who told me to phone up, I can never get through its just an automated message that hangs up.

If anyone has had this issue, did you manage to solve it?

Thinking of returning it to Amazon as could be faulty, the PS5 controller works fine

Hey just for anyone else I managed to fix this after bothering to read the settings properly. Could help with any bluetooth accessory that stops working properly.

Settings 》 Accessories 》General 》Bluetooth Accessories

Then press X on faulty device and choose delete.

I paired the remote after this and it works a treat.

No worries, glad it helped! I think mine was conflicting with the DualSense controller.

Before I fixed the remote I thought my PS5 had crashed while playing The Last of Us 2 but before I did a hard reset I held the PS button down on the DualShock controller for a long time until the controller turned off and then after turning it back on again I was back in the game fully working. Worth trying if your game freezes as no one wants to force a shut down.

If anybody else has the same problem where it goes in & out on working, I don’t recommend turning the connection off. You run the risk of it never pairing up again like mine did.

@TraeNoSongz if you're still having the issue where you deleted your media remote and it won't go back into pair mode, all you have to do is shut off your ps5 and remove your batteries from the remote. Don't remove the batteries until your ps5 is off. Then once you turn it back on, install your batteries and it will go into pairing mode again. Hope this helps.

@Richie23 I’ve been looking for fixes for days now and we’ve just tried this and it didn’t work... any other tips?

@mykyeeh unfortunately no. I tried everything above my post first and had no luck. I definitely think it has something to do with the batteries though. The first time it happened to me was when the stock batteries started dying. Managed to just reconnect it that time. Once I changed the batteries it did it again and after trying things for days pulling the batteries and shutting my console down did the trick. I have noticed that the batteries don't stay in place if you set the controller down too hard though. Maybe try checking if they aren't pushed down all the way and try again?
