@TheFrenchiestFry yeah I'm not reading too much into it but it's fun to speculate. I actually think someone else is making the next God of War, someone who was next in command under Cory, and that he is making something else.
@BearsEatBeets Considering the way Cory wrote GOW, I think that's unlikely. It's his little baby, and the first game probably contains more references to future installments than we realise. I don't think he's abandoning all of that.
@Octane You may be right. I still think he is the main writer and will be involved. I can't remember the specifics but he was talking up someone else at the studio a while back as someone to keep an eye on. There were a few other things that made me think this but to be honest I can't remember now. I could have it back to front and this person is leading the other project. Or even more likely there is no other game and I'm completely wrong on all of it. It was just a gut feeling I had from reading/hearing a few things.
@TheFrenchiestFry@Octane As much as I'd love to see Hulk or any other Marvel character be given the Spider-Man 2018/God of War treatment, I would also prefer them being able to finish the God of War games on PS5.
I can't see this reboot series lasting more than 2 or 3 games surely, not counting potential spinoffs.
@KidBoruto I don't know if this particular iteration of Kratos is going to lend himself well to spinoff content
Unless they're planning another PS All Stars game somehow (although why would they if Smash is literally doing it for them), I can't see spinoffs coming out of this God of War series.

I wouldn't mind spinoffs if they were done right, ala Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
I would freaking kill for MGS1 to get a remake from Bluepoint with the Fox Engine, or at least turning that MGS3 Pachinko machine into an actual console game
PlayStation All Stars sequel but you put the disc into the console and it's just Super Smash Bros Ultimate with the only playable characters being Joker, Simon/Richter, Solid Snake, and Cloud Strife.
@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah same here with MGS Remake. When ideas were bouncing around before everyone knew what game Bluepoint were working, that was dream behind Demon Souls.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@JohnnyShoulder I love Twin Snakes but the Matrix influences and camerawork for the cutscenes severely date that game so I think it would really benefit from a proper remake that's a lot closer in tone to the PS1 original with the graphical fidelity of MGSV or MGS3 Slot Eater
Plus Demon's Souls proves that a remake can actually work with the right team behind it, even if key figures from the original game aren't involved, because to my knowledge Hidetaka Miyazaki isn't remotely involved with this remake.
@Kidfried I mean Dragon Quest started on Nintendo systems, Street Fighter II was definitely popularized on console by the Super Nintendo, Sonic is anywhere he wants to be, same with Pac-Man and Bayonetta is basically a third party Nintendo-exclusive IP now
I would like to see games like Dragon Quest Builders 2 / Portal Knights / The Sims 4 / Disney Magical World 2 3DS on PS5 as PS4 already have DQB2, Portal Knights and The Sims 4 as my Best Trio PS4 games for me. More building sim games merrier.
Btw, i just wonder why there is NO users here have ever thinking about completely different games / unpopular games / unusual games ?
@Anti-Matter People talk about a variety of games all the time on here, from under the radar B-tier games to indie games, but you probably don't like them because you think they're all 18+
@Anti-Matter Hey - you should check out the User Reviews/Impressions thread. There is a real diverse mix of games (and platforms) reviewed and discussed by different forum members. They might not all be your jam but I enjoy seeing what other people are playing and their thoughts.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
Yep, there’s a whole bunch of different tastes here. Personally I love sims and certain ‘girly’ games such as New Style Boutique on 3DS but that has a certain level of quality. I remember the dark days of the Imagine series and bargain bin fodder like that. Most girls I know play things like Red Dead 2 or JRPGs anyway.
@nessisonett
Good news, there is another developer / publisher who continue the torch of girlie games like Imagine series.
The games are My Universe series by Microids as publisher.
So far, there are My Universe My Baby, School Teacher, Cook Star Restaurant, Fashion Boutique.
When we got Imagine and Petz series by Ubisoft during Wii, NDS and 3DS era, we got My Universe series by Microids on both PS4 and Switch. I'm glad PS4 got girlie games again like during PS1 / PS2 era such as Mary-Kate and Ashley games.
Oh, speaking about love sims, do you prefer games like Tokimeki?
If so, do you prefer play as boy looking for girl or girl looking for ikemen (handsome boys)?
The FUD that's been happening is absolutely disgusting.
The crowd, accepting this immediately, assumed the anti-Eurasian posters and banners everywhere were the result of acts of sabotage by agents of Goldstein and ripped them from the walls.
