@Jaz007
I think they dont want to make it too long. Today hardware with short demos with Cerny. In a week time it's going to be focused on first party games with HH. Imo

Bluepoint games may show something. They tweeted they wont miss it.

@Jaz007 Yeah, like I've said before, a game reveal or two is a must. People will be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

JohnnyShoulder

@Octane I think some people will be disappointed no matter what Sony show off.

It would be good to finally see what the Bluepoint game is.

Maybe we will get to see the new Ratchet and Clank game that has strongy been rumoured. Or Crash Bandicoot.

I'm going in with no expectation of any game reveals. Just PS4 games showcasing improvements running on the PS5 and specs - controller. Anything more is a bonus.

@JohnnyShoulder Well, I will say, not seeing new software would make for a boring presentation. The numbers don't say a lot, I mean Xbox One X is more powerful than PS4 Pro, but compare God of War with Crackdown 3, and it doesn't hold up anymore. IMO, the interesting things are what's actually new, new features and perhaps haptic feedback on the controllers and whatnot. Though the problem with the latter is that it's something you need to ''experience'' yourself, so they can't dwell on it for too long. 4K is neat, but I'll be watching it from my laptop, so I can't see the difference on my screen.

So if it's substantially long, like 30+ minutes, then I hope there will be some exciting content as well. And everyone gets excited for new games, right? Easy sell I think, and something that could turn a boring presentation into something worthwhile watching. Though that's the same sentiment that's turning the Game Awards into the Game Announcements, so who I am to say what's the best solution

@JohnnyShoulder of course they will, nobody can be happy now a days it seems without moaning about something

"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"

"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!

Presentation is over 52 minutes long! Seems like a good sign!

I hope the reaction isn’t too bad, it was a tech-focused talk after all. As a Software Engineering student, I found it massively interesting but it’s true that it might be dry for those gamers that just care about the end product. Obviously, there’ll be more coming but as things go, I found it a deeply fascinating talk.

I... don't and never have understood all that computery talk but I... weirdly found it pretty interesting myself @nessisonett

@nessisonett I didn't watch it, only just reading the tech specs now. Your insight has made me pretty excited.

One thing I'm not too happy with is the SSD 885gb? 100 of that will go to the system and we are left with 5 games worth of space coming into the full 4k era. This is a big misfire.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Cerny’s actually a very good speaker. Some lecturers manage to put me to sleep (not naming names) but he used some great analogies to put things into perspective.

@themcnoisy Oh don’t get me wrong, it’s 50 minutes of deep technical talk so if that isn’t your thing, probably stay away 😂

Yeah I really wasn't bored with it when usually my eyes'd glaze over on that kinda talk so I actually learnt something today from him.

Cerny must've rehearsed that talk like a million times though @nessisonett he didn't miss a bloody beat! He's a machine! 😂

There are some legimate concerns in some comments on the new articles... but you'd think sony had said the PS5 was made out of cake and only ran on liquid gold!

Think i lasted about 10 minutes before turning it off. The audio was quite bad on YouTube and it was so very dry. But I wasn't really expecting anything else. Sure the Series X seems to be more powerful on paper, but I'm sure the games will look great on both systems. Plus I'm pretty sure the faster SSD could potentially make up for any loss in regards to power.

@JohnnyShoulder
Comparisons will only advantage the ps5 SSD. Everything else is on par really. Streaming speed is well worth 1.8 TFlop

I imagine sony is aiming for $500 and is hoping series x is $600.

PS5 is supposed to be more developer friendly I hear. Plus those mini SSD things Microsoft were showing off the other day seem expensive.

It also doesn’t help that some details like the size of the hard drive were bad, like who came up with 825GB as a number? It’s both small and really weird.
I will say I’m looking forward to the audio and wonder if it’ll be better than Xbox. If it’s noticeably better than Xbox with some surround sound headphones (I’m not sure that’ll be the case, but I’m wondering after Cerny talked about it so much) then that’s big for me. I love good audio and if I can pinpoint where sounds are coming from that much better it’s a big deal.
Again, I kind of doubt it, but I still wonder.

Jaz007

nessisonett

@Jaz007 I’m hoping 825GB is how much is available to us, therefore it’s a 1 TB SSD with system software taking up space on it. Too many companies advertise storage without telling us how much of that is already used by essential software.
