@jdv95@nessisonett@Matroska yeah it’s pretty annoying, it might just be part of the getting better process following the flair up but I’ve had this a few times in the past and It seems a bit different. Don’t fancy my chances in hospital what with coronavirus n all, so I won’t go back there unless I think it’s worsening next week. Sunglasses are an option but basically my eyes are letting in different amounts of light and it has a weird dazzling effect, so it’s a trade off. I think best thing for me to do is to limit screen time. I say as I write this message
@Matroska I’m not too worried about back tracking etc or getting 100% - I’ll just play it however feels normal and if I love it I’ll play through it a second time!
anyone else using the reverse cover on the remake?

seems to only affect costomers from sony asia's PS store. since they have 2 versions of the game and for some people sony sent out the wrong version. US and EU/UK should be safe.
so uhm there may be a problem with the digital version.
it seems that for many people, sony gave the japanese lanquage version to digital customers instead of the english version.
If anyone wants to see an amazing part from the Honey Bee Inn, I uploaded this earlier. No plot spoilers if you've played the original, but I guess technically spoilers in that it's a thing from the game you might not have seen yet. But damn, they really didn't hold back on the camp or the eccentric for the Honey Bee Inn.
@Arugula
I got FF VII + VIII Twin Pack on Nintendo Switch, but i only play FF VIII. I have no longer interest with FF VII anymore, the FF VIIR just made it worse with explicit profanity i found from that game. FF VII and the Remake are banned in my gaming place.
Eesh, the voice acting’s truly rough. To me it sounds like they’ve put everyone’s JP lines through Google Translate and then got 1 male and 1 female voice actor to do everybody’s voices. I swear, Aerith, Tifa and Jessie all have the exact same voice and mannerisms. The gameplay’s sorta fun so far, not quite KH 1 and 2 levels but a bit better than FFXV and KH3. There’s a whole lot of texture glitches and that annoys me coming off Star Wars Fallen Order, which also had terrible texture pop-in. I’m hoping it’ll settle into a nice rhythm though, the first few hours were hit and miss and funnelled you down FFXIII-esque ‘pretty corridors’. I can see the makings of a great game in there but there’s a lot dragging it down which reminds me of FFXV.
I'm finding it interesting though how everyone is basically loving the game despite it being another "corridor JRPG" like Final Fantasy XIII, which most people disliked. Makes me believe even more now that people are just biased against XIII and I'm going to personally enjoy that game whenever I get around to it.
Well I wouldn't say most people are inherently biased towards FFXIII @KratosMD. It's pretty easy to look over the linearity of a game, any game, if you're invested in the storytelling and characters.
In FFX for example it makes a lot of narrative sense why it is a linear game for 80-90% of it's runtime and the game uses it to it's advantage in how it delivers the story beats.
With ShogunRok's FF VII Remake review he mentions that while it is linear (and that isn't a problem at all in of itself)... it suffers from some awful design choices in it's linearity.
I don't like FF XIII mainly because I don't like the story, I loathe the characters, the battle system is woeful in my opinon, the asthetic is rather boring... and in turn I noticed you run down a whole bunch of corridors.
Narratively it also makes sense why FFXIII is a more linear adventure... But I'd say it's nowhere as effectively done as in FF X and for me there was no real good points to XIII so it was more obvious to me it that the level design is just funneling people down corridors to progress.
While the aforementioned corridors might be all that's yelled across the internet because it's the quickest and easiest thing to say about why people don't like it... it's probably more so the culmination of a lot of other negatives people have with the title.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy You also didn't like the story in NieR: Automata and I absolutely loved the story in that game. So if you didn't like the story in FFXIII, then that pretty much means that I'm going to like it then!
... So because I dislike one game's story you happen to like... you assume you'll instantly have the opposing opinion to me @KratosMD?
I'm pretty sure there a number of people here who like Nier Automata's story that don't like FFXIII's.
I'm certain there's a bunch of other games we'll happen to agree on too (Like Digimon Cyber Sleuth for example... granted we played different titles but we had very similar experiences regardless)
I certainly won't hold it against you, Kyle, Th3Solution, Ness, Thrillho that you all liked Nier Automata's story and instantly discount your opinion on anything.
I mean by that logic of yours you liked Nier and you absolutely adore Trails of Cold Steel III ... But since I disagree with Nier, Cold Steel III's story should be absolute trash then?
