@KratosMD: Enjoy 9, it's awesome.

I loved Type-0, nearly as much as 15 if I'm honest, though it is held back by its poor graphics. The combat is really fun IMO, I generally played with Ace, Queen and the whip girl and twin pistol girl (forgot the names!) The last section and ending are very memorable for me.

I can tell you Four Heroes of Light is basically Bravely Default but with Final Fantasy name, but it's not as good and is DS graphics. But if you can find cheap, maybe worth picking up. Definitely better than the other DS Final Fantasy games. There's also Final Fantasy Explorers on 3DS, which is a Monster Hunter styled spinoff. And actually decent with online support and single player offline as well. But... if you're gonna go that route, may as well get Bravely Default and Bravely Second instead.

As for Tactics, I never did like it. After playing Fire Emblem I just couldn't ever get into Tactics. But a lot of other people swear by it. I say this: if you've played Fire Emblem, skip Tactics. It'll probably disappoint. If you haven't played Fire Emblem, then I'm guessing you'll probably love it. Maybe go for Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions on PSP. But if you're gonna get that, may as well get Jeanne 'd Arc which is far better.

Type 0 I haven't played much of, so you might wanna listen to @kyleforrester87 since he seems to have a pretty solid opinion on the game.

I liked the Dissidia Final Fantasy games too. A tad dated now, but still really good. And if you haven't played FFX-2, even though a lot of ppl don't like that game, it's worth playing imo.

I really recommend Dragon Quest too- it has some of the best spinoffs I've ever played. From DQM Joker 1 and 2 and DQ Heroes Rocket Slime on DS, Terry's Wonderland on 3DS, DQ Swords on Wii, DQ Heroes and DQ Builders on PS4... soon DQ Heroes II.

@KratosMD: Yeah it does look better, but it's still clearly a PSP title. Let me know what you think I thoroughly enjoyed the week I spent smashing through it.

@KratosMD: yeah Onion Knight is both the worst and best job in the game at low levels it's worthless but at high levels.....

anyway if you don't feel like your levels are high enough to use Onion Knight in the final dungeon that it doesn't matter, normal jobs will do as long as you have a good balanced team of course

as for what jobs the ONLY one you really need is White Mage so if you find a team that works well for you then you should be fine

Man this thread needs some search tags and game tag associate with it or something. I searched for this thread and for my life I couldn't find it. Tried every possible name and abbreviation for the game in the search bar... nothing.

Probably because it's not specific to FFXV. Forgot everything gets lumped together over here.

@KratosMD: Type 0 graphics are the worst on PS4, So so bad. Pretty good game but Its so appalling looking straight after playing the duscae demo and jumping onto that I was physically sick with the crazy motion and blurry textures.

I'm still playing ff15. 3x more trophies to go for the platinum and I had to check to see what they were;

I have fishing to level up, Noctis is level 5 so my aim later will be to get him upto level 7. Any tips are most welcome.
I have to find one final ethereal weapon, this must be castle domark the place with the electric bombs I can see this being the last trophy I get. I thought the weapon was in a different dungeon last night by insomnia (looks like sewers) but all I found was a moogle charm and the boss didn't yield any great shakes either.
Beat Adamantoise - god damn him, literally that god guys getting summoned every chance I get. This should be my next trophy. Can I just run into him or start a hunt? (I may have asked this already but was surprised you can actually fight him at the time) Is it worth me saving up AP for the unlimited airsteps for noct? That would be super handy if you need to hit him in the head.

Plan of attack for later - fishing to level 7, general levelling of stats (pushing to lvl 67/68) and AP stats through hunts then cry when Adamantoise takes me until Xmas to beat.

@kyleforrester87: Might be worth us lot becoming a quality control consultancy company for final fantasy games! It does seem a wasted opportunity end game, Ocarina of time had a similar mechanic and they used it extremely well.

That photo I posted over to you mate how good was that? Seeing noct and Lunafreya fawning over the fat guy from the tabloids was my funniest gaming moment of the year. Never knew that was gonna happen, I thought when the game asks you to choose that pic it would come up at the very end of the credits. Not be used in the cgi haha so funny. I literally pissed myself.

@themcnoisy: I think the reason there is no tags is because this thread was made before the tags were implemented. I will see what I can do.

I just encountered a bug.

Wait mode stopped working. Not only that, but my petrification accessory wasn't protecting me from being petrified.

All my saves had this bug, except one (my oldest save, an hour of playtime lost). Thank goodness it fixed loading that save though. I heard fast travel out of Lestallum can cause issues... and I did fast travel out of Lestallum for my first time just before this happened... so I'm being careful to drive everywhere, which sucks cause I have a load of side quests right now from Lestallum.

@JaxonH: Weird, I had a problem with petrification at one point, seems to have resolved itself. I had a really strange bug were the summon music would just play on a loop at the same point once it was activated, I resolved both issues when I used the dog Umbra to go to Venice from Lucis and then warp back to Lucis.

In venice (cant remember the name of the place) there's a 300% xp man in the hotel Leville - there are 2 receptionists and the one on the right it 300%! I've just used it tonight and over leveled past my target to level 70 with my crew upto 68! Id saved up 40k exp and rather than going upto lvl 68 at the 150% receptionist I managed to scrape another 2 levels by using the dude on the right! So that's me levelled to fight adamantoise. Just need the AP now for the airstep upgrade.
Unfortunately my fishing didn't quite pan out and put the blockers on progressing with the platinum trophy. I'm only just onto lvl 6 fishing. I may have to read a guide unless someone in this forum has a hint, for the first time since owning the game as I'm losing more Lures than Hanz Frietzels wife doing a spring clean. I must be doing something wrong.

Did anyone bought the Season Pass? If yes, what do you think of the first content that was released? I wanna buy it but with my country's currency weakening more and more against the US dollar, I'm kinda hoping they'll have a discount for the Season Pass at some point before buying it.

Its crazy you mention that because I literally just stayed at that hotel not five minutes ago and banked 70000 XP I had been saving for the last 12 hours of gameplay (been playing since 4:30am this morning and it's 10:30pm now).

Gained TWELVE LEVELS all at once (was using that nixperience band to prevent banking XP). 30,000 gil is no joke, but it turned my 73k XP into 220,000 experience. Went from level 42 to 54 in one fell swoop... crazy awesome!

So far nothing major... I mean we got some really awesome items like nixperience band (prevents XP from banking so you can save it up for 3X hotel), an accessory that negates friendly fire with spells, one that grants unlimited stamina, one that stops tech bar but ramps up armiger bar, another that does the opposite, and 3 that grant AP for A+ in combat (one for offense, one for finesse, etc).

So ya, really cool stuff, but that's just fluff compared to the Gladiolus story DLC, Prompto story DLC and Ignis story DLC... that's gonna be the meat of the pass there. But all the extras... hey I'm not complaining. I'm very happy with this Holiday + DLC. I don't even think it was officially announced as part of the pass. Just some extras they're using to sweeten the pot.

Given the pass is just $25 and how incredible the game is... this is one of those times I say jump on it. Normally I skip season passes if it's all MP focused but good, girthy single player content? That's the stuff there.

BestBuy website had it on sale 10% Off last week, so just $22.50. If you can find a deal like that even better.

@JaxonH: The only issue I have with that whole xp boost scenario and some of the accessories is I've really enjoyed the level of challenge and longevity of the game so far, those accessories are making an easy game alot easier!

For the main story, agreed. But I just realized how powerful I need to become when I got my butt handed to me in the Crestholm Channels dungeon. Oh my goodness I was not ready for that one. Spent like 20 elixirs just making it past the first floor. Got to this medusa looking snake spider, Level 49, and she turned me into a frog! I mean, I was getting one shotted in human form... what am I gonna do hopping around the place as a tiny little 🐸 croaking ribbit ribbit- busted out my electric spells which she's weak to, and it barely put a dent in the end of her life bar. That's when I knew it was time to evacuate and at least double my levels before attempting it again. When I'm level 85 I'll return, maybe even level 90.

@KratosMD: Happy Chrimbo man, have a good one. I really need to play ff4 so I may join you for that.

I am falling in and out of love with this game every 5 minutes like a bipolar teenager! It's great, good, bad, awesome, terrible, epic, clumsy, sleek, clever, dumb...what a rollercoaster. Very addicting though, that's for sure. Most interesting stuff I played in a while...it's bewildering weird.
