How is the Vita, nowadays? I am so feeling the power of the PSP. With backwards compatibility and all. I could store most of my PSX collection on that thing, and run it on my an 4k display with better graphics.

The Vita is so unattractive in my opinion. The 3ds already solved the problem with emulation via the Wii U. So I wonder how the Vita solves it's problems. I do see games like "Fatal Frame" via an camera could work, but otherwise I don't know???

Yes, I believe so. That is the only reason to purchase an SONY of any Sort. SONY main selling point is backwards comparability. Not having that makes any new SONY products pointless to own. That was it's main selling point.

Also if you made an PS3 game it would be region free as well. Meaning more selling status between nations. PS4 is not region free????

The only PS3 models available to buy from a retailer though do NOT have any backwards compatibility as far as I know. My PS3 slim doesn't have backwards compatibility unlike my original launch PS3. The launch model has the PS2 chipset in it as well as the PS3 chipset so it could be backwards compatible. After a few years, Sony removed that chipset believing that Backwards compatibility was pointless and that the PS3 had a decent sized back catalogue to offer on PS3 instead. Unless you can find and buy a launch model - the big phat one with a 60GB - you won't get a PS3 with backwards compatibility!

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

PlayStation 3 backward compatibility, the 40GB, 80GB re-release, 160GB, and the slim version of the PS3 are not officially backwards compatible with PS2 games because all hardware chips from the former console are omitted and there is no software emulation. A chipped method is available but this not only voids the user's warranty of the system but also decreases the life of the system as the chip is known to overheat various system components. All versions of the PS3 are able to play disc based PS1 games.
Only three of PS3 systems models have the ability to play disc based PlayStation 2 software titles the last one of these in the United States was the 80GB (CECHE01) made available on August 2007.

It is not a X button... it's a cross button. Because they are symbols not letters.
