Topic: Manga and Anime discussion

I've never been into dbz - so can't really add anything other than it sounds like they are extending the manga for no reason other than its popular. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan? Then there levels of that title? Sounds like scraping the bottom of the barrel to me.

Has anyone seen the girl who jumped through time?

The only Dragonball I enjoyed was the original, never really enjoyed Z or all the other ones.

TBH, I don't really know where all these western anime fans who say they liked the original Dragon Ball the most are coming from.

That wasn't really a knock against anyone in particular (including you @Tasuki), it's just that as far as I'm aware, Dragon Ball actually failed miserably to find an audience in the west the first couple of times they tried introducing it (though it was sometimes due to bad localization decisions), and it was DBZ that successfully introduced the series to the west when Cartoon Network started airing it in the late 90's (98 specifically, I believe).

Unless the series' history is different in Europe, I'm generally curious as to where all these western fans are coming from who say they started with DB.

Actually, everything I've seen from the studio (which also includes Summer Wars & Wolf Children) was great. Summer Wars in particular is one of my favorite anime films ever.

but yeah Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan was never said on screen but it was used for all the marketing materials EG: Dragon Ball XenoVerse and the Dragon Ball Super Manga but apparently in the latest Manga chapters (Japan ONLY) Whis gave it the name Super Saiyan Blue because Goku and Vegeta was arguing over who was stronger as a SSGSS and Whis thought it sounded ridiculous

according to a friend (who Knows Japanese) it went somthing along the lines of Goku saying "if your going Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, then i'm going Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan too, then we will both be Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan and we can have a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan match", then Vegeta replies "if we are both Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan then my Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan being an elite would be more powerful than your Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan" then goku tries to answer back and bites his tongue

@FullbringIchigo: Used to buy a lot of McFarlane Action Figures (Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Metal Gear Solid, The Crow, NBA and etc…) a long time ago but had since stopped due to space and also money. It's also the same reason why I've stopped buying mangas. I did however bought Capcom Creators Model Lagiacrus Action Figure back in 2013 I think. Nowadays, I am more interested in statues than action figures but a lot of them are too pricey for me.

Finished up Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors) tonight.

It's average from all angles (whether it be animation, story, whatever), but it's pretty short, so if you're really into the games, or the feudal Japanese setting in general, it might be worth a look.

Just like with the games, while the important figures are interpreted with larger than life abilities, the history it's based on & follows is based off of actual Japanese history, which is pretty cool.

@WanderingBullet: i know what you mean the larger ones or rarer ones are quite expensive but that one of Luffy only cost me £15
