So I'm watching more Naruto, I'm on the Chunin exams, at the forest part. There's something I'm confused about. I thought use of lethal force was forbidden in the Chunin exams, so why are they killing each other in the Forest of Death? It doesn't make sense, even if I missed something.
@Jaz007: Gonna watch this on Crunchyroll. My wife has agreed I can subscribe once the baby has jumped out.
My colleague in work is well clued up on Naruto and One Piece. There's 300 anime episodes of one piece!!! I will ask him tomorrow for you.

@themcnoisy: There are 630 episodes of One Piece actually. It's because it stretch everything out in that anime as much as they possibly could. I stopped watching because I couldn't take the plot advancing slower than a snail lol. You also might want to make sure your okay with everything your watching being subbed and not subbed before you subscribe to crunchyroll though. Perhaps watch some stuff with a free or trial account.
@Jaz007: I don't mind subtitles, you get the jokes - some dubs when I used to watch were absolutely rubbish. The character would be shouting and a calm voice would say the words. Getting the final dvd of fma - just bought it and cant wait to wrap up the series. The dubs on fma are awesome.
@SteveButler2210 Macross Plus was ok but you can definitely pass. The starts good fun but its a weird love story but both the main characters (piot and singer) are both jerks and the supporting characters (his gf and her bf) are the more likeable personalities. I would give it a 4.5/10

Orochimaru entered the Chunin exam illegally but he was already over the Jounin/ANBU level. He wasn't allowed to kill people but he does what he wants at every opportunity. Gaara is uncontrollable at this point and even his own team mates are afraid of him. Whilst people do die during the exam it is frowned upon to kill people purposefully. But the consequence would be that the offender would fail the exam.

Mostly hang around NL, but I'll go ahead and toss out my anime favorites for anyone interested.
1. InuYasha - This is my favorite anime/manga series of all time. It's an adventure series set in feudal Japan that's seeped in Japanese mythology. A bit unusual for a Shonen series in that it features romance as a core theme in addition to the action/adventure, which makes it a bit unique, IMO.
It seems to be very divisive, though. It was very popular amongst the anime crowd back when I was in middle & high school in the early to mid 2000's, but unlike almost every other big name anime from that time (Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshin, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, etc.), it hasn't seemed to keep it's status, and seems to be hated by almost every anime fan I've ran into on the internet (started chatting on forums in 2009). I understand it does have some issues (that I won't spoil since it's mostly plot stuff), but the manga is much better in this regard (I saw the anime first, and when I went back to read the manga, I was dumbfounded to know of some of the changes/omissions the anime had).
I also heartily recommend Ruroni Kenshin, FMA Brotherhood, Yu Yu Hakusho, & Dragon Ball (Z).
As for anime that seems to be popular with the younger generation, I actually quite like Sword Art Online (II) & Kill la Kill, but am not a big fan of One Piece, Death Note, or Attack on Titan (though I admit OP can be a bit absurdly funny at times).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529: If you like Inuyasha I highly recommend Ranma 1/2. It's done by the same author as Inuyasha but it's not as dark I guess I would say. Alot more light hearted but still is good.

Upto ep 55 of FMA brotherhood. The last few episodes have done little to expand the plot but its about to kick off again. A certain someone has re entered the fray.

@RR529: Cool 😎 Inuyasha I'm remembering all these and spunking a load of cash when I get a couple of weeks off. Really need to find death note the prices were a bit high the last time I looked.

@themcnoisy: If you do watch (and like) InuYasha, bear in mind that the series ends prematurely & covers only the first 330 or so chapters of the manga (it's 167 episodes long).
Luckily, in 2009 (the manga ended in 2008 after a 12 year run) they went back and finished up the anime in the form of InuYasha: the Final Act. While it's nice that the conclusion finally got animated (and there was one addition I really liked), it's really rushed, as they crammed the content of the final 230 chapters into 26 episodes.

@Tasuki: Yeah, she began work on Kyokai no Rinne in 2009 (a year after she concluded InuYasha), and I think it's up to about 300 chapters now.
It's anime adaptation just began airing this spring.
While it looks more like InuYasha (since her art has evolved over time), it's more Ranma 1/2 at heart. It's a ghost hunting comedy (with romantic comedy subplot), where much like Ranma 1/2, it's more about their week by week shenanigans than it is about some overreaching plot. Also, following tradition, the male lead has is a "half", having both human & Shinigami (Soul Reaper) heritage.

@Tasuki: Or crunchyroll. I'm signing as soon as I get time off. FMA is a must see anime for everyone. You HAVE to watch it. 👀
