Topic: Playstation New Years Resolution Thread

@Rudy_Manchego: I'm in the same boat with you regards backlog, I've afraid to say how many Vita games I haven't played but own... plenty of games on PS4 to get through as well. My aim is that by next summer I'll have finished what has been an extremely busy year of work, college and school placement teaching so I'll have a lot more time on my hands by then (and hopefully a job with great holidays and weekends off )

My gaming resolutions are these for 2017...

1.) Beat most of my PS3 and Wii U games in my backlog.
2.) Buy a 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita.
3.) Beat most of my 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita games.
4.) Buy a PS4 Pro during Black Friday 2017.

As for owning a XB1 and Switch, I'll be holding off on buying them until 2018.

I only really have one resolution and that's to catch up on all the games I missed out on this year. Watch Dogs 2, Dark Souls 3, WWE 2K17, Doom, and the Witcher 3 DLCs are all games I haven't managed to play yet.

Oh, and watch more @Kyroki streams

I am going to complete Bloodborne if it costs me all of my sanity (and insight).

Start playing my 3DS consistently again so I can get through my backlog on the thing, and not get sucked into and addicted to Rocket League again so I can get through my PS4 backlog, too.

@booshy89: Good luck in March Booshy, I'm sure you'll make a great dad but those platinums.... Hmmm. They will have to wait.

@Kyroki: One of my resolutions is to game more with you all in 2017, I reckon I will have more time later on in the year and cant wait! Team Pushsquare forum salmon touchers here we go.

1) Stop feeling guilty about buying games, when a game is barely more expensive than fast food night for the family.

@themcnoisy: Thanks for the advice, but I still need to also own a 3DS, Xbox 360, and Vita. There are exclusives I MUST play.

Besides, I promised myself I wouldn't buy a PS4 until I've beaten most of my PS3 games, and that won't be done until Black Friday 2017 at the earliest...

@Mega-Gazz: That is a good point and one I need to remember and stress to my wife. I just bought Persona 4 Golden for the Vita for £3.99 and I thought twice about it but then thought 100 potential hours of play for the price of a pint in a normal pub. No contest.

As proper gamers, as all 3 of us are - we've got a huge breadth of knowledge and experience in all the various genres and maybe subconsciously we dont want 100-200 games anymore especially games which last for ages, due to time constraints as adults and would prefer to saviour the plethora of are already extensive gaming chronologies and collections. £3.99 is too expensive if you wont play the game.

Obviously P4G is a no brainer though as the best rated vita game.

I look at the promotional sales most days, and I can afford a title or two every time and it would have no impact on my quality of life.

I haunt the sales weekly, but even now with Dishonored and Watch_Dogs 2 both on sale at like 33% and 45% respectively, somehow I've not purchased them still, because I can wait like a year and get them maybe 15$ cheaper.

Sales buying is defo a weakness for me and as part of my new years resolution, I have to answer 1) Will I play it?, 2) do I want it or do i just like the price? 3) Do I have time to play it?

I'm not equating length to value (ooer) but I think that gaming can represent great value for money. I recently jotted up what I used to spend on food and booze a year and then compared to gaming and it was less on games. So while I need to stop buying games I am not going to ever play just because they are cheap, if I see a great game for good value then heck yeah I am going to get it.

My buy of P4G has been on the cards for a while now - I have never been into JRPG or similar games but so many people have recommended it. I have started and am going to try and play for 15/30 mins a day in between other things.

@Rudy_Manchego: Cool you can start a P4G thread in the vita forum for tips once you start the game. I will be there!

Well, my resolution hasn't lasted long. I said I would try to reduce my backlog before buying more games and in the last week I've bought about 5 in the sales. I am a weak, weak man.

@KratosMD: Thanks for the suggestion . I plan on buying a "New Nintendo 3DS XL" in March ^_^.

@crippyd: Haha, mate I've had 3 big chances to play on p4g on the vita - vvvvv has been played, episodes 14-15 of attack on titan watched and Titanfall 2s single players been played for about an hour and a half. I promised myself p4g what's stopping me?

I may have to take some time away from Pushsquare to get my resolution out of the way.

@themcnoisy: Have you actually started playing it yet? I wonder what you'll think of it lol. I feel like the only person in the world who didn't love it. It was okay but after 20 hours I just got fed up. The snazzy looking battles are great at first but the repetition got boring, the dungeons were boring and the story and characters wernt my cup of tea. Type-0 was way better. Just my opinion anyway

@kyleforrester87: Not played it at all.

Titanfall 2 is loads of fun though. Its like call of duty ultra version - a bit too much going on for a noob like me but you should definitely give it a whirl.
