Topic: Playstation New Years Resolution Thread

@kyleforrester87 my wife's fine with gaming.... Up to a point. But getting chastised for trying to level my social links in persona when I haven't taken the time to visit my real friends, is actually a good point.

My resolutions and results;
1) To play through P4G

Completed!

2) Buy a 32gb / 64gb memory card for the vita
Fail - but man those crazy prices. I did buy a PS Vita TV and have played the games I wanted to the most so a fail and win at the same time!

3) Restart Tuesday Night Gaming with the Pushsquare clan, hopefully on Titan Fall 2.

Completed! But back to Rocket League it is. Happy new year...

My resolutions update

1: Make a bigger dent in my backlog
I've made a small dent but I've been so busy with college and work that I just haven't had the time to really get through it. I have held off buying many new games this year, only picking up Horizon and a couple of couch multiplayer games for my gf.
2: Use my Vita/3ds more
Definitely been achieving this seeing as I was travelling a good bit plus my ps4 broke and I was without one for a month. Managed to finish a couple of backlogged games on my Vita
3: Replay Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 3
This has not happened and is very unlikely to happen, a surprise for no one on this thread I'm sure!! I did start a new playthrough of the Witcher on the highest difficulty and really am intent on playing through it again but I've put about 2 hours into it so far. Life is just too busy. I'm abandoning any plan to replay Dark Souls 3 even though I'd like to play the dlc

The problem with backlogs is they keep getting bigger.

@themcnoisy I'm trying to stick to a new principle of only buying a game when I finish a game, I'm holding of on the Sexy Brutale until I finish either Tales from Borderlands or Horizon. Similarly I'm holding off Persona 5 till Horizon is finished. I'd like DiRT 4 but I want to play through more Driveclub first. Just hope I stick to it.....

6 month update:

Updated. I've bought a New 3DS XL and I should have a 360 in October. My DS collection is almost complete and I've already bought all of my 360 games.

Thanks for the advice (and sorry for the late reply). I went ahead and bought the 3DS and soon the 360, but I've decided the Vita can wait until 2018.

@ToddlerNaruto Honestly you might just want to go with an Xbox One instead of a 360. With the One X coming out you can probably get an Xbox One pretty cheap and with the backwards compatibility with 360 games you will have a system with access to so many more games.

@Tasuki I would have bought a XB1 instead, but it isn't backwards compatible with Crackdown 1-2, Fable: Anniversary, Infinite Undiscovery, Just Cause 1, Saints Row 1, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Tales of Vesperia, or The Last Remnant.

Which is why I need to still buy the Xbox 360, that's 9 360 games the XB1 can't play. I'll eventually buy a XB1 but not until Black Friday 2018 or 2019.

@KratosMD Thanks ! I actually only have five 3DS games though, while my DS collection is at 20 games.

I plan on buying ALOT more 3DS games from now to January though. Between Christmas and my birthday (Jan 18), I should be able to buy at least half of the 3DS games on my wishlist.

I don't care for Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, or Ace Attorney. Kirby and Metroid I only play the 3D non side scroller versions of.

As for Dragon Quest XI, I'll be grabbing the superior PS4 version. I did add Persona Q2 to my wishlist though, thanks!

Hmm so looking at the below - I am fairly happy wthat I have done most of them.

For point 1, I have definitley reigned myself in quite well. I have bought some titles in the sale but I have only bought games I wanted to buy. The only way I haven't done so well is buying retro game titles. I started collecting more retro games that I have no idea if I will actually play. However, part of that is more of a collection thing. However I was able to buy these because I was spending less on games in sales so that takes care of point 2. For point 3, I am pretty happy I have played games oustside of my comfort zone. I have got back into Nintendo games, played some cracking indies and taken on some new genres like Bloodborne.

@ToddlerNaruto Jeez, that's a lot of games! Think you're sorted for a year!

@themcnoisy I did think twice before posting, but @Tasuki has a 6month rule. So it's fair game .

@themcnoisy @Fight_Teza_Fight: I think this thread will stay open till the end of next month. Then when the New Year started we will start a fresh thread for 2018!!!

I think 90 PS4 games will last me for 3-4 years personally, especially with how much little free time I have lately.

Though knowing me I'm probably gonna keep on buying games until I run out of money or games to buy haha.

@ToddlerNaruto Hmm ... dude, Persona 5, GTA V, The Witcher 3, and Fallout 4 — those alone could keep you busy all year 😆
But I’m in the same boat. I have nearly as daunting a list to play this next year — Yakuza 0, TW3, FFXV, the list goes on and on ... I’ve got some real gargantuan games in my backlog too. And somehow, I’ll still probably buy Monster Hunter World on day 1. There’s gotta be a name for this condition. 😓

@Th3solution Call me when you have that problem with multiple systems, lol. Seriously though I have such a huge backlog on not only PS4, but most of my retro consoles as well lol.
