Really looking forward to playing Little Hope and Little Nightmares 2! I've already started playing a horror game this weekend (Condemned) and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I just love playing horror games around this time of the year.

Any games you guys wanna add?
I’d like to add WWE 2k24, but I’m not sure if it’s an extra game.

@Yousef- Since I don’t want to be banned, I’ll bite my tongue about suggesting Doki Doki LC. 😋

But man, Dead Space would be great. The Last of Us Part I might even be worth a roll.

@Hogs-of-War-General Hey and welcome! Every month we vote for a game from PS Plus extra, and you’re free to participate and give your thoughts (without necessarily needing to finish the game if you wind up not liking or finding the time since this is just a place for discussion)

Every month at the 3rd Sunday, a vote for next month’s game opens and closes at the 4th Sunday of the month, then the game is played at the month it’s voted for and archived when it’s done (at the start of the thread, there’s an archive list. It cuts off at July 2024, but I continuing it privately and will bump it every now and then).

All club members are part of a ping list you’ll see above. A mass ping occurres when it’s voting time. You vote by writing the game name in bold like this and you add a game to the club list by doing the same. Has to be a PS extra game. If it leaves PS extra, it’s likely getting removed as to not pressure anyone here to buy the game.

You can click on my signature to both see the current game list and see the votes list once we start voting. We’ve already decided what October’s month will be (it’s gonna be a couple dip for Halloween) but you can tune in for October to vote for November’s game. If there’s a tie, there’s USUALLY a random roulette is spinners to decide the next game but I’m trying to come up with a different system (I welcome suggestions).

In preparation I went to download Little Hope on my PS5. It informed me I could use my PS4 save data which I thought was weird as I hadn't played it on PS4. When I went to check what it would download it was my old Man of Medan save data. I decided to download it anyway and now interested to know how having that on the system will change/influence what happens. I'm guessing it will just be some chat with the Curator dude telling me I should do better than I did in the past.

@sorteddan That is interesting but I wasn't aware of any influence you have from other games in the series. I played all of them except for the last one and don't recall any difference.

Does anyone have any info on that?

So I started up Little Hope a bit early as it's the weekend. The first thing I noticed was that you can choose a difficulty, which I don't remember being an option in Man of Medan. I thought about whether to pick Forgiving or Challenging. When I played Until Dawn and Man of Medan, I just didn't like losing characters because I messed up in a stupid way. On top of that, you lose out on content because a character is dead, which I vividly remember happening to me in Man of Medan and it bummed me out. Ultimately, I'm here to experience a horror story and have a good time, so I decided to go with Forgiving.

I've only played for a short while but the story is really interesting so far. It's definitely more spooky at this point compared to Man of Medan. Although I do have to say that I'm finding one of the characters extremely annoying. She's completely irrational and uncooperative. I'm hoping she becomes more bearable down the line.

Personally, I’m not too invested in most horrors, they’re my kryptonite ALA how Sol feels about FPSs 😆 but I’ll still watch a playthrough to follow along with what people type here 😂
It looks like an interesting game, especially from how you describe it. Glad you’re having fun

@Yousef- Good to hear. I've also not been in the mood to play games after work lately, so I probably wouldn't have started the game until next weekend and I don't want to wait that long to play this game.

It's understandable, Supermassive games also have tons of jump scares so their games aren't for everyone. But Little Nightmares 2 is more of a 3D platformer. I think you'd like it.

I played more of Little Hope this morning (nothing helps you wake up more effectively than a horror game lol) and it's seriously much more engrossing than Man of Medan thus far. During the first hour of Man of Medan, literally nothing happened. During the first hour of Little Hope, you get thrown right into the main event and there has already been several jump scares. The characters aren't that memorable or likeable yet but perhaps that'll change. Either way, I'm really enjoying this game now.

I've also tried it out on Portal and while it works fine, the screen is just too small for this type of game. You could miss out on stuff that would've otherwise triggered a reaction from you. So I think I'll keep playing it on TV so I don't miss out on any potential scares.

Well I've so far managed to restrain myself but also looking forward to jumping into Little Hope so glad to hear your positive initial impressions, annoying character notwithstanding. I also found Man of Medan quite slow to get going - with the flashback bit and then intoductions/preparation for the boat trip it seemed like a couple of hours before anything started happening.
Think I'll attempt to play through on normal difficulty and attempt to keep everyone alive first time round, though almost inevitably I wont! But it wouldn't really be a horror film (game) if everybody just had a lovely day trip and survived to tell the tale!

Hopefully I'll get time to make a start sometime in the midweek and will report back then.
