I ordered Elite Dangerous for PS4 from Shopto.net
So they charged me TWICE and sent me TWO copies.
I contacted them regarding this error. They replied the error is mine and I must pay to post it back and fill out various forms to qualify for a refund.
Next up my friend messages me this morning. Shopto has charged him THREE times for Elite Dangerous and he has been sent THREE copies. Once again, they say, his mistake.
"Apologies for the inconvenience."
Curious who else this has happened to. Anyone experienced similar problems?
I have contacted my bank and trading standards. Stay tuned.
@Mega-Gazz They stated I placed two orders and my friend placed three orders. I know for certain that's not true.
I agree, does sound scummy! I wonder if they are trying to get rid of unwanted stock at month end to hit targets.
I probably would go all digital if prices were better on console.
I've been shopping at ShopTo for years and their service has always been top notch for me so I'm quite surprised to hear this. Hopefully you and your mate will be fully refunded.
@ApostateMage I was surprised as well. But doing some digging on if this is a one off and I'm reading they've got a lot of previous for doing this. Good site until they make a mistake. Then they literally make you pay for it. I'll update on what happens next, cheers.
ShopTo were great when they first started trading and I did a lot of shopping with them. As with most companies though they slowly traded customer satisfaction for profit and I went somewhere else. After a long hiatus, a good few years ago I returned and bought something from them with a credit card a rarely used, everything arrived, but about a week later I found over £200 worth of fraudulent charges on my card which I thankfully was able to reclaim. Obviously I can only suspect ShopTo being responsible, but I'm sure if you Google it there will still be hits for other people who had similar issues with them. I'm also sure they probably have plugged whatever problem they had since then, but they never apologised for any problems caused and I just have never trusted them since.
