@Kidfried surely they aren't called tweets anymore, as it is now X so maybe something like an X-crement. Which would fit as it seems people do talk a lot of crap on there.

@MightyDemon82 X-crement… I like it.

I’m actually a little disappointed in the internet that it hasn’t been more up-in-arms over the name change to “X”. I’d hoped that there would be massive boycotts of that silly name and more of an exodus from the service. Of course I never engaged with Twitter anyways so it makes no difference to me. But surprisingly people have seemed to just settle into the platform and continue to support it with every bizarre change and crazy thing that Musk does. I guess the world is too entrenched in the platform to care.

@Th3solution I wish all these social media platforms would just disappear. Only have Facebook myself but I never use it these days. Always tempted to delete my profile!

@Th3solution The only place I’ve seen it referred to as X is articles on here. It’s just really sadsack behaviour, the guy tried to call PayPal X back in the day and it was so hated that he got ousted. Proper saddo.

I just broke a mirror by accident. 7 years bad luck for me? Well I haven't had any good luck lately so probably no change there lol.

See ya!

I've been pretty decent thanks @Th3solution! Nice to be back.

@HallowMoonshadow Good to hear. And I’ve been fine I suppose. Well, actually better than fine. Although I remain busy and have had less gaming time than usual, things are mostly stable and happy. Of course we all have our share of problems, but I’m truckin’ along at a steady pace.

Yeah, it’s hard to believe school is getting close to being back in session. Did you do anything fun or exciting for the summer break? I see you’ve been doing a little retro gaming (I enjoyed reading over your Okage impressions just now. Had never heard of it before).

I’ve been thinking about you with all the Baldur’s Gate 3 hype. Seems it would be right up your street. It’s giving me DOS2 vibes.

A shame you've had relatively little free time but I'm glad to hear you're doing alright Sol as are your family/loved ones!

We were actually going to go to Japan to see some of my partner's family but plans unfortunately fell through so it's been rather quiet and uneventful summer holiday.

I told Rog I was writing that back in May so... Yeah. I felt a bit bad not getting it out sooner.

It's sadly ironic about a game with a main theme of being overshadowed that has been completely forgotten by time.

And I just saw your post in the BG III thread.

Do it Sol! Finally dip your toe in DOS II!!!

I've actually watched a couple of streams of the opening & some of Act 1. Looks utterly delightful. Still don't have a PS5 though so... I have to wait...

I would genuinely say to give DOS II a look even if the combat style is completely different thanks to BG III adapting D&D's 5th edition combat rules. Just to get a sense of DOS II's writing style and what it does as there are some similar mechanics shared between them (You can tell BG III uses the same engine as DOS II just massively improved)

@HallowMoonshadow Oh, I thought maybe you had procured a PS5, since you’d mentioned Okage was fairly broken on the current gen console.

I’m finding myself having a harder and harder time going back to the PS4 to play games. I still have it set up on an alternate TV and I recently played Life is Strange 2 on it, but it’s a total pain in the derrière to use it. It chugs along slowly and the WiFi and Bluetooth function is finicky; I think its internal WiFi antenna is on the fritz. And I’m surprised to say that I’ve grown accustomed to the PS5 interface and so when I boot up the ol’ PS4 it feels dated. I’ll admit the UI is more intuitive and elegant in function, but the PS5 UI is so pretty and so I’ve gotten used to the visual overload it has.

But yes, regarding DOS2, it still sits proudly in the stack of games I need to get around to. As I mentioned, my time is still at a premium, so it’s length has been a barrier. I had a goal to emphasize new releases a little more this year and so I’ve been stuck in a couple games for a while. In fact, I’ve become frustrated with the length of games and I’ve been making excuses to play shorter, simpler games. I’m finding more added enjoyment from those kinds of experiences lately.

Sadly not. I just happen to know that the current list of PS2 classic games don't run well on PS5.

Yeah I recall you mentioning somewhere or other before about your PS4 being on the fritz with the wifi/bluetooth. Fingers crossed nothing bad happens!

I'm lucky in a way I suppose in that I haven't been spoiled quite yet by not having a 5.

To be fair I did only say to give it a look to get a feel for it Sol and what BG III will potentionally have to offer you and not play DOSII to the very end, dedicating 100+ hours to it

But yeah I can understand wanting some shorter experiences thanks your time being worth it's weight in gold at the moment.

Hopefully you get to enjoy yourself with some shorter titles and get a bit more time on your hands as well!

Voltan

Tomorrow morning I'm flying to Bristol to visit my brother who lives there. My first time in the UK.
While at it, we'll swing by Birmingham this weekend so I can play some fighting games at VSFighting XI.
Should be fun

@Jimmer-jammer Hey man! Thought I'd post something to you besides music for a change. I am currently farming souls in DeS Remake on PS5. Farming in 4-1. Did you play the game? I know you played Elden Ring, but not sure if you played this one. I'm going for an op strength build with some magic investment so I can use the Crescent Falchion+1 effectively against most regular enemies. Planning on obtaining and using the Dragon Bone Smasher for bosses. Sorry if you're unfamiliar with this information if you haven't played it. If not, what are you currently playing? Best, Swordsman.

@Voltan I hope you're enjoying yourself on these shores! Bristol is a great place so I hope you got to enjoy the city; it was one of my favourite places to live as there's loads going on but it's also a beautiful place too. Birmingham slightly less so but still a cool city

@TheBrandedSwordsman Hey! Sorry, I was having some technical difficulties 😅 I consider Demons Souls a masterpiece but am by no means remotely an expert on it. Honestly, it’s probably the Souls game I’m least familiar with as far as builds and the light/dark mechanic and all of its idiosyncrasies go. Really love it though! A few of the bosses do have very specific strategies (or even weapons) to defeat them, so you may want to keep that in mind.

I’m about 3/4 of the way through Final Fantasy mode on Final Fantasy XVI. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece but the 140+ hours I have into it speak to how much I absolutely love the game! Been thinking of jumping into Armoured Core VI when it releases but we’ll see.
