@LN78 in my defense, it isnโt a hot take to praise the movie on its own ๐

These spats feel like will be much to frequent
Can we at least agree Superman IV sucks? Thatโs Essentially the quickest way to establish any common ground between movie fans.

@Yousef- I've seen enough (deluded) positive reviews of "Deadpool 3" for that to be true but calling it the best movie of the decade when stuff like "Oppenheimer" (just a boring movie about physics) exists is definitely in HT territory.

(For the record, I donโt dislike openheimmer, stop putting words in my mouth)

@Yousef- If you track way, way back in the movie topic you'll see I wrote a mini retrospective of the Cannon Films catalogue - "Superman IV" included. I definitely liked it more than "Deadpool 3".

@Yousef- It's a movie that was an unfortunate victim of circumstances (the budget got mercilessly slashed moments before production started) but it wears its heart on its sleeve and it's completely devoid of cynicism and snark. And it has Gene Hackman and Christopher Reeve. It's certainly a so bad it's good flick - I like it on those terms.
@LN78 fair take
I suppose Iโll leave this as a closing note just in case though, no hard feelings yeah? Playful spats are jolly but I donโt actively seek them out or anything. Love and peace and allat bollock ๐

@LN78 could not be any happier to read that mate! ๐ the sentiment is extended!
While weโre at it, I do genuinely wish to know your thoughts on Barbie, Yโknow, the โboring movie about a dollโ

@Yousef- I'd say "Barbie" was (to quote a masterpiece of English Literature) mostly harmless. It got three or four genuine laughs out of me - which is three or four more than "Deadpool 3" managed. In fact, now that I think about it I found "Oppenheimer" funnier than "Deadpool 3".
I saw Azrael in theatres this past Friday and have to say that it was entertaining however it didn't really do anything new except for it not having any dialogue due to the story. There were some great gory moments but nothing crazy.
Films shot in dense forests are always great to watch though!
@Hogs-of-War-General Been curious about this; Samara Weaving is becoming the queen of this particular horror sub-genre and I love her to bits, but the no dialogue thing has me wary. This is another horror movie that seems to skip theatrical release here, so I'll probably have to wait for digital on that one, too.
@FuriousMachine Samara Weaving does a great job in this film as she is very expressive with her face and "silence". She was great in Ready or Not and it was a bit of a shame to not hear her acting skills. Yeah it's a small showing where I'm at so I'm glad I watched it.
October is going to be filled with horror films and I have so many to watch! Generally watch the same couple of ones and try and add as many other ones I either haven't seen or haven't seen in a while.
The Thing, Hannibal, Sleepy Hollow, The Hills Have Eyes, Doctor Sleep, Annihilation, It, Aliens films, are my staples.
What is everyone else planning on watching for October?
@LN78 Iโm sorry, but now youโre obligated to expose me to the masterful comedy youโve witnessed in openheimmer. Iโm not even disagreeing, I just have to know. Me and my dad may have missed a few scenes since it was late when we saw it and we needed a few whiz breaks. ๐
Openheimmer, comedy of the decade.
