@Diamond_Dog Oh yeah, Crazy Rhythms is fantastic. Absolutely all over the place but great! I also didn’t realise Daddy’s Highway (complete with horrifying album cover) was partially recorded in Glasgow but we were one of the centres of indie music in the 80s along with Dunedin (which coincidentally comes from the Gaelic for Edinburgh) and Athens, Georgia.
@Diamond_Dog I’d probably recommend bands like Josef K and The Pastels in terms of ones who were around in that scene. There’s also Sarah Records from Bristol which had bands like Another Sunny Day and The Field Mice who’re a little bit more twee but have aged really well.
Kinda funny to see Boris Grebenshchikov of Aquarium on yet another blacklist in Russia, this time for being anti-war. The guy’s been pretty much permanently on one list or another but continues to release music.
@nessisonett What do you think of the Pixies new song 'Human Crime' ? YouTube it if you haven't heard it already, it's got some quite nice hooks, also, what did you think about Taylor Hawkins' untimely passing?

@TheBrandedSwordsman I guess that Pixies song isn’t too bad. I’m not really into their newer output! And yeah, while I was never a Foo Fighters super fan, it’s never nice to see anybody pass away at that age.
@TheBrandedSwordsman Hey man! Things are super busy but good, thanks. Kids are growing like crazy, hard to keep up! Been away the last few days. Haven’t been listening to much unfortunately. I was hoping to give Bitches Brew that third listen on the trip but it never happened. How are you? How are your studies going?

@Jimmer-jammer Hopefully you can give that album the third listen it deserves. No studies happening at present, maybe later this year instead, focusing on swimming now, and, of course, a game I've barely scratched the surface of but can discuss if I don't get sidetracked with anything else - the legendary ARPG that is.... Elden Ring!

Giles Corey - Deconstructionist. Had to switch it off after feeling like my head was about to explode and there were needles in my eyes. Later found out that it isn’t recommended for anybody with a history of mental illness… which means listening to it not long after starting on antidepressants is 100% the worst idea I think I’ve ever had. Hard to tell how many of the stories of people going into a trance listening to the album are true but it definitely has a distinct effect on your brain. Mileage may vary but it’s a weird one, I feel similarly to when games with certain light patterns make me feel nauseous and light-headed.
@Octane I completely forgot about that. Quite keen to give it a listen now that they've got Frusciante back - he really is a genius guitar player. I'm a big fan of their early stuff (up to "Blood Sugar Sex Magik") and I remember liking "Californication" quite a bit when it came out. They are (or at least they were 20 years or so ago) an absolutely brilliant live act, too. I saw two different festival sets in the late 90's and they blew the roof off both times. You should have a blast. Have you seen then play before?
@nessisonett What do you reckon of Tortoise, Jeff Parker's band? Specifically the albums TNT and Standards? Recommend them highly if you haven't heard them already, also ,what's your opinion of Coltrane's final album 'Expression'?
