Hello everybody! I saw Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection was on sale on Steam, and I'm somewhat unfamiliar, but intrigued with the series. So, my question is this. I have never played any games in the series before. Would it still be worth playing 4 if I haven't and can't play the others? Or would the story and everything still be easy to keept up with? Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thanks!
PS: I should also clarify, I do not own a Playstation and am not interested in buying one. So I don't have an option to play the older titles.
@Bigmanfan I started with 4 and loved it, and then went back to play the other 3 over the years following just to be around the characters again. So it's all good, well worth going for it. Enjoy!

@Bigmanfan Each Uncharted game has a standalone story. Characters comeback but there is very little callbacks to previous games except for The Lost Legacy which is a quasi-sequel/epilogue for some characters from Uncharted 4 mostly.
I started with 4 and loved it enough to buy the Nathan Drake Collection.
@Bentleyma I started yesterday and couldn't put it down for a few hours. It legitimately feels like a playable movie, which is just super cool to me. I also thought the writing was shockingly good. But yeah, definitely feels like a special one so far.
@Bigmanfan great to see people discovering games for the first time. I can still remember the sense of awe at the start of each chapter, and the adrenaline from the set pieces. That, on top of the characters that feel a lot more real than most movie characters just made for the perfect playable action/adventure movie experience.

I was never a huge fan of the first three Uncharted games, thought they were decent enough but some sections dragged on for far too long for my liking. The 4th game however i really enjoyed pretty much from start to finish. Seeing this thread has reminded me I need to play Lost Legacy soon.

I would just add if you're enjoying Uncharted 4, I definitely recommend playing the follow-up Lost Legacy. It's a bit more combat focused (but prolly shorter in length overall), and has a couple really ambitious chapter designs imo. If you enjoy the stealth gameplay & narrative focus of these games, then The Last Of Us would also be a natural recommendation (if you haven't played that).
@JohnnyShoulder ahh, every year I install Lost Legacy, and every year I delete before I've played it 🤦♂️ I don't know why, I think because it seems like a DLC style release I just never get round to actually playing the damn thing as I leave U4 in my memories; scared of tainting those by playing as different characters 😅

@Ravix@PorkChopExpress I only played Uncharted 4 earlier through the remastered collection on PS5, after playing the trilogy on PS4 a few years back. Interestingly Uncharted 4 is the only game so far I've played at 4k 120fps, even though that option was not available in the game.

@PorkChopExpress a miles Morales situation, then, as Peter Parker does my head in 😅
I like all the characters in U4 tbh, and that is probably why there's just a slight mental block on starting LL. That and knowing I've never loved the combat gameplay as much as the rest of the games elements.
