@BAMozzy: @Tasuki: Oh wow I didn't realize the community there was so bad at Pure Xbox I thought it would have been the same as here sorry for not researching more also sorry I should have realized there are a lot of multiplat gamers on this website
@SKC_Diamond: It's virtually dead over there. You can go days without seeing a new forum post or news item. A lot of the news also seems to focus on 'indies' too although of late there has been a lot of Quantum Break and Gears 4 news. A few of the people are no different from here, gamer first and foremost, happy to help and friendly but a few are more argumentative and rude - especially if you have a different opinion or gaming tastes.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@BAMozzy: That's sad to hear I wonder why that is because I just went on to check out Nintendo life and it almost seems more lively and happy then over her I wonder why Pure Xbox isn't the same I just found a post from you on pure xbox about getting a PlayStation 4 and it rally just looked like staff and a few users actually joined in even @Tasuki was in it
@SKC_Diamond: That post was over a year ago! The fact that most first pages have 'last post 2015 and something this old is still on the first page says it all! I have had it said that PushSquare generates a LOT more traffic. I found these sites because of the closure of the Official Playstation and Xbox Magazine sites (although the OPM forums/discussion was pretty non-existent) as well as the closure of CVG too. When OXM closed, a lot of the forumites moved to PureXbox but it seems that apart from a few, most have left. The 'few' that do comment, seem to be the same few...
In that post, there was, I believe, at least 1 who made a comment about talking about PS on an XB site but as you can tell a few of those - inc @Tasuki - who had a PS4 (or at least played some of the games) and were really helpful.
I know I was a 'bit' late into the PS4 generation but that was purely financial. when I had the funds to buy my first 'next' gen console, because I had a Gold subscription and a transferable Season Pass, it worked out cheaper to buy the XB1 first - especially as I found a bundle with 4 games - To get the equivalent, I needed an extra £150ish on PS4 (PS+, Season Pass and the equivalent games) - That's the only reason!

@SKC_Diamond: Well, I know part of the reason that Nintendolife is more lively is the fact that it's been around longer, then Pushsquare and PureXbox so naturally it's going to be a bit more lively. Also, I don't think there are that many dedicated Nintendo forum sites out there, I know Nintendo themselves don't have one which is odd, compared to PS or Xbox ones. Also not trying to sterotyping here but I think more of the demograph that play on PS and Xbox are a bit older then Nintendo players, so we don't have the time to be hanging out in forums as much as the young ones do due to family, work etc.

@SKC_Diamond:
Pure Xbox isn't bad. I post there all the time. It's the same as this one, there are people who will lose their minds when you criticize MS but there are people here who go crazy when you dare to question Sony. If anything though, the worst community is over at Nintendo Life, no tolerance for anything unless it's to say Nintendo is perfect and if you're somebody who prefers Sony, well God forbid you try to talk PS over there without some idiot crying about how Sony just 'copies' everything the competition does (true to a degree but not the one those people act like) and brings nothing to the table. It comes with the territory though, I would never say to somebody don't visit Nintendo Life, because the writers provide great coverage, you just have to be careful what you post. If you were to venture to Pure Xbox, you can be critical of MS, I am all the time, it's just how you criticize.
Sorry to get off topic, but I think PX is a great site and it's not a great look that some people are discouraging visiting it (to be fair, @BamOzzy has been unfairly targeted over there). The writers there also do a great job, are friendly and engage the community quite a bit.
@dryrain:
I'd rather interact with people in the comment section of articles, it's just easier and imo it does kind of eliminate the need for forums.
@Gamer83: I hope I wasn't discouraging by my comments about XB1 but the Forums are virtually dead. I know there are regular news items that do generate conversation from the usual few but its the same few and it seems that at least 1 is blatantly obnoxious, argumentative and rude - especially towards me.
On the whole though, the majority are like here, friendly and helpful. News in general is a bit slow but its still my 'go to' site for Xbox specific news

Yeah, I go over to PureXbox whenever I get a new 360 game, and while my game threads are always fortunate enough to get a few posts, if it weren't for me bringing them up in the first place, it's likely there wouldn't have been any 360 discussion in over a year (though I do think there was one forum about Xbone BC on there).

@themcnoisy: The Xbox Elite controller is kind of like a scuf controller. Its the best controller I have ever had! The thumbsticks are swappable with 3 different heights and metal shafts. The triggers and shoulder buttons are metal and the four 'paddles' are metal too and easily taken off if you don;t want them too. The D-pad (also metal) can be swapped for a circle style - good for fighters I believe. All the sensitivities can be adjusted too. It stores 2 custom settings on it at any one time so if you like a 'certain' set up for 'shooting' and a different set up for driving - rather than pausing you can switch settings quickly.
Its fully customisable so you can set the paddles to do whatever you want - same with all the buttons too. It has metal components inside as well so feels very solid and unlikely to wear out quickly. It has a rubberised grip and even the plastic feels quality - velvet smooth as opposed to the glossy finish of most controllers.
As I sai, I think its the best controller I have ever had. Even if you don't like the asymmetric layout that Xbox controllers use, the build quality feels superior to anything else. Its actually cheaper than 'scuf' but feels so much more like a quality controller. The metal parts are generally brushed metal looking (matte) but the shafts n the thumbsticks are shiny.
It means you don't get the plastic dust and wear on the thumbstick shafts that you get with all other controllers. I know its expensive but its definitely the best controller available.
