40. Spyro: Reignited Trilogy (PS4)
Before Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, and Spider-Man, it was Spyro that gave Insomniac Games its big break on PS1. That first trio of action platformers was wonderful back in the late 90s, but they're even better in Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, a vibrant PS4 remake. It features all three classics with a gorgeous, cartoonish visual makeover and modernised controls. The result is a nostalgic package that equally pleases old fans and new ones alike.
39. Ratchet & Clank (PS4)
This reimagining of the very first game in the series was made to accompany the movie, but ended up totally eclipsing it. Blending a familiar adventure with some new weapons and gadgets, Ratchet & Clank is both nostalgic and fresh. It's a visual treat, with exquisite animation and fun shooting/platforming gameplay. This is one gorgeous adventure that both fans and newcomers will adore.
38. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (PS4)
Many would say that Sleeping Dogs is underrated — and we'd probably agree. This arcade-y romp into the criminal underbelly of Hong Kong is a banger from start to finish, and while it never quite reaches the open world highs of something like Grand Theft Auto, punchy storytelling and memorable missions make for an overlooked action sandbox. Throw some satisfyingly chunky combat into the mix, and you've got a damn good time.
37. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (PS4)
It's a pirate's life for Edward Kenway, the charismatic but troubled protagonist of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Taking control of your own ship and crew, this is an excellently realised pirating sim with some typical Assassin stuff thrown in for good measure. An impressive naval combat system makes exploring the high seas a real thrill, and boarding imperial vessels for some swashbuckling battles simply never gets old. Outside of those tedious tailing missions, Black Flag is a top class Assassin's Creed title.
36. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (PS4)
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life concludes the story of long-standing protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. Now nearing 50, a tired-looking Kiryu is once again forced to take action when his loved ones are placed in danger. When it released in 2016, Yakuza 6 was easily the best looking game in the series, thanks to the all-new Dragon Engine. However, unlike Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5, Yakuza 6 does not feature multiple protagonists. Instead, it focuses solely on Kiryu, in what is an intensely personal conclusion.
35. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4)
When it comes to endless character progression and loot, very few games measure up to Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition. An action RPG that offers what is in theory an infinite amount of stuff to do, it's a blast whether you're playing with friends or you're grinding through the demon hordes all on your own. Supremely polished and intuitive, it's hands down one of the tightest titles on PS4.
34. Devil May Cry 5 (PS4)
Flashy character action doesn’t get much better than Devil May Cry 5, a white-knuckle affair with style in spades and one of the deepest combat systems you’re likely to find on PS4. This Capcom tour-de-force looks absolutely sensational, and is packed to bursting with memorable moments – but it’s that graded combo-based gameplay that will keep you gripped long after you reach the credits.
33. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (PS4)
Following a string of disappointing releases, Capcom got its beloved horror franchise back on track with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Set inside the dreadful house of the Baker family, Ethan Winters (that's you) must fight for his life and escape his captors. It marks a return to true survival horror, and ups the tension with a first-person perspective. If you want to make things even more claustrophobic, you can strap on a PSVR headset and play the entire thing in VR. Resi 7 drags the series back to its roots and sets the mood for what would come next.
32. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Determining how highly regarded Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is really depends on what type of person you ask. Open world fanatics rightfully claim it's one of the genre's best, with vast stretches of land that let you come up with infiltration and escape plans. However, MGS enthusiasts aren't so hot on the fifth mainline entry thanks to a story that feels half-finished. It's an excellent playing game, but a disappointing Metal Gear Solid.
31. Dark Souls Remastered (PS4)
Dark Souls has earned a rabid, loyal fanbase with its uniquely weighty combat, richly realised worlds, and challenging (but fair) gameplay. Lordran is beautifully realised on PS4, its foreboding architecture and often terrifying denizens forcing players to learn from trial and error. Dark Souls isn’t for everyone, but those that persevere will forever praise the Sun.

Yakuza/Like a Dragon can fill a good 20% of this list
People really use every opportunity to vote "The Witcher III" in any ranking's top 5, even if it doesn't fit there at all. ^^ Next destination: Best real-time-strategy games. Number 4: "The Witcher III". The people have spoken.
My Ratchet & Clank PS4 will join with my PS5 games as the game get 60 fps support on PS5 machine.
I want to replay again from beginning with 60 fps. 😊
Crazy that so many of these games are either PS3 era games upscaled or remakes of older games. Kind of shows where the industry is at in terms of creativity these days.
Surely the only important point of discussion is:
Are any of them fully patched and on sale in a year’s time?
