Mark of the Sniper is a Scoop you'll receive on Day 2 of Dead Rising 1, and sees Frank battle a number of Psychopaths in the Entrance Plaza. In this Dead Rising 1 guide, we're going to provide a Mark of the Sniper Walkthrough, covering all of the steps you need to take to complete it. This guide covers both the original game and the new Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

I've spotted a guy in the cosmetics shop in Entrance Plaza. Looks like he is tryin' to get outta there but someone's takin shots at him. There must be a sniper positioned over there. He will not last long like that... — Otis

As soon as you enter the Entrance Plaza, a cutscene will introduce a Psychopath encounter. There are 3 snipers on the second floor taking shots at Wayne Blackwell, and it's Frank's job to save him. When you regain control, turn around and head up the escalators so you're on the same level as them. What you need to do is target one of the snipers and get them isolated from the rest, then kill them up close and take their Sniper Rifle. You can then use this to easily kill the other 2 snipers.

We suggest going in with a Small Chainsaw dropped by Adam the Clown (they respawn every time you enter the area in the roller coaster station) and picking them off one by one. Despite how powerful sniper rifles usually are, getting hit by a bullet doesn't deal that much damage. Still, we recommend using the stone pillars on the sides of the gangway and moving between them when the snipers reload.

When you've killed the 3 snipers, return to the pink shop on the second floor called Estelle's Fine-lady Cosmetics to find Wayne. We recommend combining this Scoop with The Woman Who Didn't Make It and Antique Lover so you can rescue 4 Survivors at once. As long as you have the Entrance Plaza gate raised, this should be a very easy trip back to Paradise Plaza and then the Security Room.
