How do you import all levels and locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 into Hitman 3 on PS5 and PS4? IO Interactive allows you to play the entire World of Assassination trilogy within Hitman 3, and while it's made this process as straight-forward as possible, there are some complications to consider. Fortunately, as part of our Hitman 3 guide, we've put together a comprehensive walkthrough to explain what you need to do to import everything on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4.
Hitman 3: How to Import All Levels and Locations from Hitman 1
In order to import all levels and locations from Hitman 1 into Hitman 3, you'll need the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass. This includes the following destinations: the ICA Facility, Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado, and Hokkaido. You'll also get the Patient Zero campaign.
How to Get the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass
You'll find the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass in the Hitman 3 Store tab. If you've never owned Hitman 1, then you can select it from the menu and purchase this from the PS Store. However, if you've previously claimed the Hitman 1 Legacy Pack in Hitman 2, then it'll be available as a free download.
If you do own Hitman 1 but have never claimed the Hitman 1 Legacy Pack, then you'll need to do that before importing into Hitman 3. To do that install Hitman 1 either on Blu-ray disc or digitally and ensure that it's fully updated. Browse to the in-game Store tab and download the Hitman 1 Legacy Pack. It doesn't matter which version of Hitman 1 you own, as all copies will be upgraded to the Hitman 1 GOTY Edition in Hitman 3 for free. Once you've successfully claimed the Hitman 1 Legacy Pack, you'll be able to download the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass within the Hitman 3 Store tab as detailed in the paragraph above.
Hitman 3: How to Import All Levels and Locations from Hitman 2
In order to import all levels and locations from Hitman 2 into Hitman 3, you'll need the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass and, optionally, the Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass. The Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass includes the following destinations: Hawke’s Bay, Miami, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, Whittleton Creek, Isle of Sgail, and Himmelstein. The Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass includes the following destinations: New York, Haven Island, Hantu Port, and Siberia. The Hitman 2 Gold Access Pass includes both the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass and the Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass.
How to Get the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass and Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass
You'll find the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass, Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass, and Hitman 2 Gold Access Pass in the Hitman 3 Store tab. If you've never owned Hitman 2 or Hitman 2 Gold Edition, then you can select either from the menu and purchase them from the PS Store. You can also purchase the Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass individually. If you own Hitman 2, the Hitman 2 Expansion Pass, or the Hitman 2 Gold Edition digitally, then they'll be available as a free download.
If you own Hitman 2 on a Blu-ray disc, then you'll need to install it and ensure it's fully updated. Then you'll need to go to the Hitman 2 Store tab and download the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass. Once you've successfully claimed it within Hitman 2, you'll be able to download the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass within the Hitman 3 Store tab as detailed in the paragraph above.
If you own a physical copy of the Hitman 2 Gold Edition on Blu-ray disc, then it'll come with a code for the Hitman 2 Expansion Pass. Redeem this on the PS Store and you'll be able to download the Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass from within the Hitman 3 Store tab.
Hitman 3: Does Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 Include All Cut-Scenes?
Hitman 3 includes the full versions of Hitman 1 and Hitman 2, meaning if you successfully import the levels and locations as detailed in this guide, then you'll be able to play both games in their entirety within Hitman 3. This means that all of the cut-scenes, story, objectives, challenges, and more are included without any compromises.
Hitman 3: Can You Import Your Progress from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2?
You can only import your progress from Hitman 2 into Hitman 3, although if you've played the Hitman 1 Legacy Pack within Hitman 2, then this progress can be carried across as well. You'll find a tab on Hitman 3's main menu titled Carryover. This will take you to a web page where you can import your Hitman 2 progress into Hitman 3. This will include your Mastery Level, XP, Inventory, and more. Keep in mind that completing the carryover progress will reset your Hitman 3 progress if you've already started playing.
Have you managed to import all levels and locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 in Hitman 3 on PS5 and PS4 yet? Take a look at our Hitman 3 guide, and let us know in the comments section below.

I hope this helps! My takeaway now I've had chance to look into it is that it's a pretty easy process if you've got digital copies, but more complicated if you've got physical versions.
jumping in at number 3. Assuming the engine and graphics have improved between 1 and 3, is this a case of playing the older levels in the Hitman 3 engine?
@QuizKid Yes, that's correct!
Might seem like a silly question, but there's no time limit on this is there? Having just dropped the money for a PS5 I might have to wait a month or two before I pick this up.
@DiscoStuUK No time limit at the moment. Will certainly be fine for the next two or three years, so don't worry about it right now.
@get2sammyb Wicked, thanks man
I never got around to playing the first two games. With that in mind, is it worth picking up number 3? Or is it advisable to play the other two beforehand?
@TommyArter Depends really. You might be better off getting Hitman 1 or Hitman 2 while they're cheaper and seeing if you like it. Then at least you know if you love it, you can always import the previous 2 into Hitman 3 at a later date.
Or wait for the inevitable 3 games in 1 special ultimate edition!!
I've been playing through hitman 1, never played any of them before and absolutely loving it!!
@get2sammyb cool thanks for the reply
What a mess, I wish they had released a trilogy pack with everything together for £70. I would have got it then, but as it is I'll wait until they get their house in order.
unless i'm missing something obvious, you could effectively play hitman 1 and 2 (or most of it) inside 3 for free if you were able to borrow/rent the first two games on blu-ray disc?.
@TommyArter To clarify extra, you can put Hitman 2 progress into Hitman 3, but not progress from Hitman 1 into Hitman 2 or 3. So Hitman's one levels carry over into both games, but progress from Hitman 1 can't be transferred over anywhere. The tutorial level (which has a small, but real level in it that can be replayed in different ways) that can be played for free.
It's also worth getting all three because you can play the entire trilogy in Hitman 3 with all of its improvements.
@Old-Red haha, they are pricing just the HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Gold at 100e (which only the stupid will buy since AFAIK this doesn't give you hitman 2 gold edition only to play the gold edition stages on hitman 2) and you want them them to include everything (besides the base hitman 3 game, hitman 1 access pass, hitman 2 gold access pack and the hitman 3 deluxe pack are 165e so with the base game, that becomes 235e) and you want them to release everything for 70 pounds or 90e LMAO
@Jaz007 let's say you never played hitman 1 and played hitman 1 levels in hitman 2 (i don't own hitman 1 but in May for 3 days they let people play hitman 1 for free and I was able to redeem hitman 1 legacy pack working for free in hitman 2 LOL), you can transfer the progress from hitman 1 levels played in hitman 2 to hitman 3, it's not like it's impossible
@OthmaneAD Yes. All profess obtained in Hitman 2 carries over over. It can be from Hitman 1 or 2 content as long as it as played in Hitman 2. Does that make sense?
@OthmaneAD They were selling 1 and 2 for under £10 each last week and I can get 3 for £45. Dunno why £70 is so funny. As for 235€, Wow! Jeez, really? Crazy prices, I think I'm done. It's all way too confusing and expensive with so many different deluxe versions and what not.
@get2sammyb Jesus, you must have needed a lie down after writing that. Cheers for this guide, I picked up Hitman on Plus but haven't got around to it yet, so I'm going to hold off until I've got the entire trilogy ready to go. This guide will come in massively handy when that glorious day arrives
@Gremio108 It was quite complicated, for sure!
@Old-Red The gold edition of hitman 2 was 20e in the last sale, those are the prices if someone wants to get the rip-off Hitman 3 access packs for 1 and 2 + the deluxe edition from the store, but give it 1 year and it will be very cheap, or 2 years if you want 80% off, the base prices on the store are always ridiculous compared to physical
@OthmaneAD yeah, I'm out. When they decide to make it simple, stop messing about with loads of different versions of each game and put it all together for a reasonable price I'll consider taking another look.
Access passes are broken for a lot people myself included. I got Hitman 1 levels on Hitman 3 but Hitman 2 is refusing to work. It shows up as 39.99 instead of free.
@TeapotBuddha exactly the same issues I am having.
Lordy what a process - any idea if I can now delete all those previous versions of Hitman & Hitman 2 I've crammed into my hard drive now I finally sorted access to those levels from Hitman 3, or do I need to keep them all installed?
😂 It's cool that it's all playable within one game but surely there would have been a better way to implement it than this.
@AlanJordanS @TeapotBuddha Both of you still having problems with adding Hitman 2 levels into Hitman 3?
@TeapotBuddha Glad to hear you figured it out!
Hopefully @AlanJordanS has also have their problem resolved.
So I have Hitman 2 from PSNOW...and I bought Hitman 3 today, does it work? Can I import the levels? In the import section it shows "Extra" -Transfer and it gives me an error. The other "extra" option shows 69.99...
What can I do?
@AFCC no it won't work with PSNow
@KidBoruto I finally got it to work. I believe it was server issues on IO's end. I kept trying one day and just decided to give up for the day and it ended up working the next morning. Didn't do anything different, a option just appeared in the Hitman 2 in-game store that wasn't there the day before.
@AlanJordanS it did work! Managed to make it work fortunately
@AFCC @AlanJordanS Glad to hear both problems fixed for you guys as well =3.
Just purchased Hitman 3 on sale, picked up Hitman 2 from PS Now a while back. I can see the content in 3 but its locked?!, done all the access pass *****, so confusing, still cant access it, in particular, i can see and play the 3 sniper missions in Hitman2, i can see them in Hitman 3 but they are not available😿😿😿
@Kensey1966 You still having trouble accessing the content in Hitman 3?
Nope, sold the PS5 lol
