Hogwarts Legacy: Foal of the Dead Walkthrough

Foal of the Dead is a Side Quest you'll encounter during your adventure through Hogwarts Legacy. In this Hogwarts Legacy guide, we're going to reveal our Foal of the Dead Walkthrough.

Foal of the Dead: Walkthrough

In the Room of Requirement, resident house-elf Deek will ask you to breed a Thestral. You'll need to acquire a male and female Thestral, which is done by following the objective marker to the North Ford Bog. Once there, use the Nab-Sack to catch one. You can use the icons next to their names to identify a male Thestral: it's the icon with an arrow pointing diagonally upwards to the right. You'll then need a breeding pen spellcraft, which can be bought from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade for 1,000 Gold.

Return to the Room of Requirement once you have the necessary items, and enter the vivarium that Deek creates. Inside, cast the Conjuring spell and select the Breeding Pen. You can then interact with the stand next to the breeding pen entrance and add the female and male Thestrals to it. Then, back out to the previous menu and you can select to breed a Thestral. This process takes 30 real-life minutes, so either simply wait there or go and do something else.

Once the Thestral is bred, feed it and groom it, and report back to Deek to finish the Side Quest.
