Description
Fire-breathing female wyverns known as the "Queens of the Land". Their powerful legs and venomous tails make them efficient ground hunters. At times, Rathian and Rathalos can be sighted hunting as a couple. After laying eggs, Rathian are extremely watchful of their nests. Proceed with extra caution, as a mother will move swiftly to protect her young.

  • Rathian loves to do a tail attack that sees it flip in the air; if you're hit, you'll be poisoned. To nullify this move, focus on severing the tail, which makes the monster far easier to deal with.
  • After Rathian breathes fire, the mouth will become weak, so it's a good place to target if you're in the right place at the right time.
  • Breaking the monster's wings will limit its manoeuvrability, which is great for weapons with a shorter range.
