PSVR to PSVR2: All Games with Free Upgrades

No Man's Sky on PSVP, is one of the best examples of how much better a game can be in VR. The improved graphics on PS5 missed the better feel & controls of the VR version. Now we'll get the best of both and a reason to upgrade to Playstation VR2.

Can i buy the PS4 versions of these games and they will still update to PS5 and run on the PSVR2 (or do i have to have the PS5 versions?)

@LiamCroft Owlchemy Labs announced a couple of days ago on their website and twitter that Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator will have free upgrades as well 😃

No Man's Sky should never have been released before VR in the first place. For years, I fully expected it to be a pure-VR experience and was shocked when it finally released and was only 2D.

Does anyone know if we are able to purchase from a store on release day? I have a pre order but I can't change my delivery address for some reason. Keeps coming up as an error. I will have to cancel my order and purchase elsewhere😭

Oh nice didn't know job and vacation simulator were confirmed for free upgrades. Pleasant surprise as we head to launch.

@Discol76 You should be able to cancel it and then reorder it to your correct address, I cancelled the standard edition and then ordered the Horizon bundle 5 minutes later, I checked with customer services it wouldn't still think I'd met my quota and not let me reorder 😅

Quite surprised there aren't more as there are some great games on PSVR1 which could be sold to new psvr2 users.
Time will tell I guess but I'm going to miss Dirt Rally, Wipeout, Farpoint and Rush of Blood.

@neonpizza I can't answer your question as I haven't used the new headset but the recent Dev interview on Digital foundry has one of the Devs mentioning how their game is pitch black in places. Worth a watch as it is quite insightful. 🙄

For example, will Walking Dead Saints and Sinners 1 upgrade be available on Psvr2 release day?

I've read so many conflicting theories about the Saints and Sinners upgrade. Some sites say it's released on psvr2 release date and some say it releases in March alongside Saints and Sinners 2.

@MagicalBarrie Yeh think I might have to do something like that. Playstion customer service is so difficult to get in touch with, never mind an answer. Just keeps directing you to help pages or FAQs which are of no use. Rant over lol

@Discol76 Tell me about it, I spent an hour on the chat and then got cut off literally at the point when they were about to give the answer we lost connection! It would have been funny if I wasn't so angry 😂
Then managed to get back on later and got an immediate answer, it can take about 5 minutes for the systems to update but you can cancel and then reorder without being worry ☺

@orangeblossom Great news! Puzzling Places is a fantastic little game, and the devs seem like good people. They donated the proceeds from their Ukrainian cultural heritage site DLC to aid those displaced by the war.

Do we know yet if the rumors of a NMS delay are true or not? I already bought it anyway, lol, but I'm still wondering.

Cancelled pre order and tried new address. That didn't work. Error message saying unable to verify address. I'll just buy it at a store hopefully. 😢 Edit.....Got it. Accepted new address 👌

@Discol76 I have the exact same issue! Apparently you can only change address within 30 min after placing the order.. I cancelled my preorder, thinking I could place a new order straight away, but now it’s impossible to log in. So I’m left empty handed 😭🤷🏻‍♂️

Saint & sinners Tourist Edition is a free upgrade, but Saints & Sinners Standard Edition was the one through PS+. So this means the PS Plus version won't be getting the free upgrade?

@MagicalBarrie My original Pre order was made on 15th November. Not sure if that would have got me to the front of the queue. But hey I'm just happy my headset will now be going to the correct address whenever it arrives. Bought RE Village and NMS, still I. their wrapping unopened. Will buy GT7 and that Kayak game next.

@Mr_B021 Try again now, I've been locked out before got whatever reason and then got in later, and it can take a bit of time for it to register the cancellation before you can reorder

Sony should port all their games, like Playroom VR, Driveclub VR, Persistence VR, Wipeout and Blood & Truth to show they are 100% dedicated to PSVR2. The lineup so far is really strong but I think alot of people are waiting for Sony to keep the momentum up for the long run. These titles would be easy for them to upgrade to 4K and new controllers and reap some goodwill from.

@Discol76 @MagicalBarrie Yep and the email confirming my preorder is cancelled. But still no way to log in and place a new order. Tried several times during the day with different devices and browsers. Can’t get through to customer service either. 😩

@Mr_B021 That's so weird, I've just tried and logged in immediately and there's a chat agent available as well. What's it saying when you try to log in?

@MagicalBarrie I suspect they don’t have that many employees on the Dutch language chat. After you fill in your name I get an error message saying it could not make a connection even while indicating that there are employees available to chat..🤔 I tried to use the UK or US chat, but it immediately redirects.

@Mr_B021 argh that's so frustrating!! Hopefully you'll be able to log in soon, have you tried going through Google to the PSVR2 page and skip the PlayStation direct page? I've had it where the actual page just glitches repeatedly, managed to bypass it by adding it then logging in, worth a try!

My payment for the Horizon bundle has gone out. Just have to wait now for that PSVR 2 goodness 😂 I've already pre-installed some of the games on this list ready to update them. The reviews are really positive so far

Still find having to repurchase Moss 1 and 2 again for psvr2 really irksome. I bought Moss 2 not that long ago. Bought it on PC and Quest 2 also. To recharge loyal customers the FULL game price AGAIN, while offering nothing new (both graphics and control upgrades over PSVR1 version are available on PC anyway) is a real kick n the teeth.

@fluggy Moss 1 I get, but Moss 2 being so recent is a kick. It’s very much a “I’m so glad I skipped this on PSVR” moment.

The physical version of After the Fall doesn't have an upgrade, you need to message vertigo games (link below) about it, then send them proof of purchase of both the game and PSVR2 and they will send you a code, I also had to tell them my region, as well.

Interesting - I don't own any of those, which may make some sense because I never had a PSVR, but I did "buy" all the PSVR content that was free on PS Plus over the years, and have quite a few titles.

The closest I come is The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Tourist Edition, where I have the game without the "Tourist Edition" add-on. Anybody have any clue if that will be an upgrade? I guess I can buy the Tourist Edition upgrade cheap this month on Sony's sale.

My kid bought the PSVR2 so I ought to get a chance to try it out - I was hoping more of the titles I'd picked up but never tried would be possible. Oh well.

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality and Resident Evil biohazard upgrade would be cool and also skyrim vr
