Is Stray an open world game? You may be wondering whether or not Stray takes place in an open world environment. Playing as a cat in a run-down robot city, it looks like a fun place to explore, but it's unclear if it's open world or not. As part of our Stray guide, we're going to tell you whether the game is an open world sandbox.
Stray: Is It Open World?
Generally speaking, Stray is a linear adventure, and thus is not an open world game. However, there are one or two larger levels in the game that give you the freedom to explore. In these chapters, you have much more opportunity to check out the sights and sounds. These levels do have a main path, but you can take as long as you want. Stray isn't an open world, but it does give you a couple of sandboxes to play in between the more linear chapters.
Speaking of chapters, you might be interested to know how long the game is overall. For more information, visit our guides: Stray: How Many Chapters Are There? and Stray: How Long Does It Take to Beat?
