It’s an absolutely mammoth month in the world of PS5, with several high-profile games all vying for your attention this month.
All eyes will be on Monster Hunter Wilds, the next major wildlife wacker from Capcom, but set aside some time for SEGA’s zany nautical spin-off Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and historical RPG sequel Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Let’s get straight to the highlights.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - 4th February
The original Kingdom Come Deliverance was a bit of a sleeper hit, so its successor comes with high expectations. Think Skyrim but more down-to-earth, set in the real life Czech region of Bohemia.
A thrilling action RPG set amid the chaos of a civil war in 15th-century Bohemia. You are Henry of Skalitz – an ordinary man doing extraordinary things – caught in a gripping tale of revenge, betrayal and discovery. Henry will embark on an epic journey, "from a humble blacksmith's forge to the court of Kings", as he searches for purpose in this beautiful but brutal medieval world. From bustling city streets to lush forests, discover an open-world medieval Europe through this unforgettable adventure filled with action, thrills and wonders.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirate in Hawaii - 21st February
The Tojo Clan's top butt-kicker is taking up a new pastime: sailing the high seas. Yakuza has always been zany, but in this nautical entry, SEGA's lost it's bleeding mind. With boat battles and a real-time combat system involving animal summons, all we can say to this cracker is, "Yarrrrrs, please!"
A new legend begins as you step into the steel toe boots of Goro Majima, a man who has lost his memory and reinvents himself as a pirate on the open sea.
Embark on an over-the-top, modern-day pirate adventure with an ex-yakuza, now pirate captain and his crew as they engage in exhilarating combat on land and sea in the hunt for lost memories and a legendary treasure.
Monster Hunter Wilds - 28th February
It doesn't get much bigger than a brand-new Monster Hunter title, and Wilds is looking like the most ambitious yet. Building on the foundations of Monster Hunter World, expect animal cruelty on a whole different scale with this monstrous sequel.
Prepare to explore a wild and unrelenting new frontier featuring dynamic, ever-changing environments.
Monster Hunter Wilds is a story of monsters and humans co-existing in the Forbidden Lands, a world with two faces: one in which the lands are harsh and unforgiving, where monsters fight for scant resources, and another in which the lands are vibrant and brimming with life.
Play as a professional monster hunter assigned to the Forbidden Lands Research Commission, tasked with protecting the balance of the ecosystem and hunting monsters. Use the resources you gain from hunts to craft ever more powerful weapons and armour in your quest to unravel the mysteries of the new lands.

After the latest Pirate Yakuza trailer I think it’s supplanted itself as my no. 1 most anticipated game this month (year?) but MH Wilds looks amazing too.
Momodora, Lost Records, Split Fiction, and honestly probably Assassin’s Creed Shadows for me. Pretty solid batch, honestly. Of course, everything depends on whatever Sony announces in the near future too!
I actually can't wait for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2!!!
Jesus Christ be praised 🙏
Definitely getting MH Wilds. Suikoden I&II will have to wait for a while....
Kingdom come deliverance 2.monster hunter wilds.and like a dragon pirate in yaku is the big 3.word up son
I have been first curious, then bored, moving on to angry and now enthusiastic about you hyping YET another Yakuza game this time set on.... a pirate ship. Can't wait for the 9/10 pushsquare review. There's been 6 titles since 2020. That's prolific.
Oh, and Kingdom Come II - I just want to play it now. Gimme.
Kingdom Come 2 is already pre-ordered and paid for and i shell be pre-ordering the Tomb Raider collection and MH Wilds next week when pay day hits. Really strong month.
Trails Through Daybreak is not getting its own paragraph is making me sad. Especially for a console that is THE home for JRPGs.
But I'll be getting Trails and Yakuza: Black Flag for sure.
@QiaraIris yeah I noticed that too, Daybreak II's lack of a paragraph is shocking
Yoooo new Care Bears dropping in March, why’s this the first I’m hearing of it?! Come on Pushsquare, step up your efforts
Daybreak 2! I probably won't play it for a long while, but Falcom physical copies don't last long at all before it becomes necessary to over-pay on the secondary market. Between that and Expedition 33, I'm probably set for 2025 unless a new Resident Evil drops later this year. Please, Capcom?
Can't bloody wait for KCD2 on Tuesday. I'm also gonna check out Far Cry New Dawn on Game Pass because it's getting a 60fps patch.
@EfYI Why the Yakuza hate haha?
February will be a backlog month for me, but I'm looking forward to both Split Fiction and Wanderstop in March.
Monster Hunter day one without a doubt.
Dialogues between the Yakuza developers:
@IntrepidWombat do you only play 2 games per year?
Literally nothing for me here unfortunately.. Monster Hunter never visually appealed to me, played KC1 for 2 hours and couldn’t pick it back up, and Yakuza games never sparked my interest
I’m very happy for everyone who’s excited for this month.. but sadly I’m feeling lackluster
Split Fiction isn’t couch co-op only, right? I mean, my son lives in the next room but I’d like to have my TV all to myself while we play. Anyway, I’m excited for that one. He’ll, might even get my not-a-gamer wife to play… hopefully.
@Zeroo No, I manage 6 or 7 if time permits. My backlog is just insane though. 25% of the PS5 games I own are still in plastic, and a few that aren't have been played exactly once. Those are the only two I'm interested in for this year, and other than that, it will be exploring the plethora of games I already have.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii could have been called Like a Pirate, or Like a Demon, or Like a Mad dog.
Hannya Ga Gotoku.
