Original White
Release date: 12th November 2020 🇺🇸 / 19th November 2020 🇬🇧
This is the standard DualSense colour scheme, and will be what comes with your shiny new PS5 console. It matches the machine's white and black design, and if you ask us, it's pretty darn snazzy. Just don't use it while you're eating Doritos.
Midnight Black
Release date: 11th June 2021 🇺🇸 / 18th June 2021 🇬🇧
The design PS5 users have been waiting for, Midnight Black is a solid black DualSense controller. Many have become accustomed to the all-black PlayStation pads over the years, so this is a great option if you like your controllers uniform.
Cosmic Red
Release date: 11th June 2021 🇺🇸 / 18th June 2021 🇬🇧
Cosmic Red is a vivid colour scheme that gives the DualSense PS5 controller a bit of pizazz. Replacing the default white with a bright red hue, this is a fun alternative for those looking for a more colourful controller.
Nova Pink
Release date: 14th January 2022
Taking things a step beyond red, Nova Pink lightens things up. It's a great colour that leans towards the hot pink side of the spectrum.
Starlight Blue

A blue controller is usually a popular choice, so it makes sense for Sony to offer a blue DualSense. This one is on the lighter side, offsetting the black section of the pad nicely.

Galactic Purple is a lovely deep hue for your DualSense controller. If you're not into a colour as brash as red but still want something more vibrant than black or white, here's your winner.

It's good to have a guide for this, I was lost.
All three of them.
Available in white, black, and hideous.
I hope they release a blue one. Microsoft's Shock Blue controller looks amazing, so I hope that they do something like that.
Look, if PS5 is still going to be this scarce and they are going to make new colors of this controller then the least they could do is make the controller work with PS4. It's just annoying at this point, if I'm being honest.
I'm coming around to the Cosmic Red one. Imagine the PS5 with that colour. Yeah nah maybe not.
I'm all over that black controller. That red one looks pretty ugly though.
I’d have to go with all black. And I usually prefer the white console/controllers.
If the white/Red controllers were all White/Red (without the black part) they would look so much better.
I felt the same way about the V1 DS4 controllers with the black underneath. It just looks so damn ugly. To my eyes at least.
Is this just Sony being cheap? Surely it wouldn’t cost them much more to use the same moulds to make White/Red parts???
Who else is patiently waiting for a metallic blue Dualsense?
The red one is the best colours, I'll take that one 😃
The Cosmic Red is my favorite so far. I do like the white one and black one also. I want Sony to release a back button attachment for the Dualsense so I'll finally be able to retire my Dualshock 4 controllers.
Black one is on order, who needs any money!! lol
Why does the red one cost slightly more is my question in this matter?
Seems a bit of a 'cash cow' since most will probably elect for the red one which equals more sale profit to me.
All of the colours look very good but no money from me as I don't like 'mismatched' colours so I will stick with the supplied controllers.
The red looks great, but I only need 2 controllers for now, and with the white that came with the console, I'll be getting the black which it would have released with.
Faceplates when?
I’m just glad there was no mention of things being gray when they are actually black.
I still don't get why so many people complain about the original black-and-white colors. They're perfect, match the console and look modern. No way I'm going back to all black controllers.
@RenanKJ theres always gonna be contrarians to something . aside from gray controllers , all-black controllers is about as basic and played-out as they come . a white controller is a fresh take , i agree. same thing with the xbox360 back in the day , it was refreshing that the console/controller was white.
honestly , any-color but black would be refreshing for a console. i still liked that the gamecube was purple even though i had a black one, lol .
Already bought the 4 I wanted in white, different color options were too late to the party.
Guess I need a challenging game where one meets the wall and I’ll get a black.
I'm all for colorful controllers. I have a red PS4 controller that I affectionately call "Reddy." But that "cosmic red" is more a "dull magenta." I guess I'm sticking with the default white controller for now.
Love the different colors but we need consoles.
Already put in a request for the Cosmic Red, looks amazing.
I like the cosmic red, even though, let’s be honest, it’s a combination of pink and purple.
@LordSteev * chuckle *
I must say though that I still find the original white rather fetching.
Dirts up easily though.
Ordered the black one, but what I REALLY want is one with the PS1 colour scheme, like the DualShock 4 20th Anniversary Edition!
I am kind of surprised Sony didn't release same colored panels for the PS5. This is a market just waiting for them to tap into.
I’d like the one that doesn’t develop the massive drift after 3 months, that you can only get repaired if you don’t mind holding on an overseas phone call for an hour only to be told you have to pay for postage there and back again and wait 3 - 4 weeks minimum. During which you cant use the console - the one you had to sacrifice a goat just to be lucky enough to find in the first place, and for which you paid £70 just to play one game - which you can’t, because the controller developed a massive drift after 3 months…
Hopefully this mean fascia plates for PS5 aren't far behind. Matt black all round would be lush.
I wanted all black when it was revealed, but the dual color has grown on me and I actually prefer it now.
I voted for White PS5 controller.
The best color choice for me.
What’s up with the switch joycon colors and now the dual sense’s as well, can we have some shades of color that don’t burn our retinas?
I guess they are easy to spot around the living room…probably even from space.
I like the pink one but I don’t want friends to get the wrong idea about me
They look like dildo colours. Dilsense purple looks OK
I'm buying myself a Cosmic Red or Midnight Black controller, as soon as they are discounted down to $40 or cheaper.
I'm annoyed that the colors cost extra. Really? Seems like gouging to me.
Give me a good sale on these, maybe in a bundle with the side panels, and you'll have a sale (purple or red? purple or red?). But these prices are ridiculous.
I have 2 White Cosmic Red and I recently purchased Galactic Purple which should come in the post tomorrow.
I regret getting 3 basic white Dualsenses, the red and purple ones look amazing 😩. And the blue one reminds me of the Aqua Blue PS Vita 2000, one of my favorite special/colored versions of any console ever. Good thing they sell console plates with these colors.
Hopefully they all now get made with the newer more robust internals that 3 newer colours have.
@Rural-Bandit I'd probably have bought the black by now if we weren't now looking at moving house. May as well hold off to see what our media setup end up looking like.
@Rural-Bandit eh it's still early early stages, nothing's certain yet other than the area and the budget, but it seems pointless trying to make it look good in a place we won't live in next year, touch wood.
@Rural-Bandit I might even just buy whatever's cheapest and spray it - I want to keep the ones that came with the console stock in case I have any issues and need to send it in, so they're staying white.
As for the house, that's the idea. We're trying to find a bungalow or a cottage, I've spoken before about being disabled, it would be nice to be all on one floor so I'm not having to plan everything around managing to get up and down the stairs. A lift would be an option too, but given our budget and needing to be commutable to where my partner works, we're unlikely to get enough space while still having the budget to do building work.
I quite like the cosmic red one, but I can’t justify spending £50 on it when my original white one works fine.
I really like the blue on the God of War version but had finally bought a second white controller literally 3 days before it was announced. I have zero reason to buy it now.
Is it bad I have 5 different colours 🫣
Hello everyone,
I just got the Grey Camouflage Duelsense and faceplates (I hope they will do a green camouflage next year). WOW! They look great! I liked my 3rd party black plates I had for a year (nicely put away now), but that grey camouflage and the little PS logos in beaded look great on the controller.
Now all be waiting to get my God of War controller early next month. I plan on giving my Starlight Blue and Cosmic Red to my son when he gets his PS5 Digital or the new PS5 iteration next spring. He wants to wait and save up his money. However, I'm thinking of getting it for him and his fiancée as a wedding present when he gets married next year, hopefully.
Cheers!
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk What do you need 5 controllers for anyway? 😄
@Darude84 I didn’t say 5 controllers I said 5 colours 😉 I use a rotation set up of 3 per PS5. I had like 12 dualshock 4 controllers for my PS4’s
Galactic Purple remains my favorite.
I settled on the starlight blue for my second controller, I would have preferred the GOW edition ideally but I wasn't about to hunt around or pay a scalper fee for that (same deal with hogwarts edition). I like the light blue though, it's a nice color that's easy on the eyes and makes it more interesting than your boring basic black and white. The other colors just didn't appeal to me as much, the red being a bit too much of a wine red for my taste, and the purple just not appealing to me as much. The camo and pink just didn't appeal to me at all.
So is that Concord controller available anywhere?
When will there be one without drift?
