It's literally a cultural phenomenon in Japan. Seriously. Ask the average Western street-dweller about Capcom's Monster Hunter mind, and you might not like the response. It's an attitude Sony hope to change.
Speaking with Captivate audiences, almost-ex-SCEE boss David Reeves said that Monster Hunter Freedom Unite would "spearhead the PSP resurgence of 2009". No doubt it will in Japan Mr. Reeves, but Western perception of the series will have to change in order for the game to "spearhead" the PSP worldwide.
Alas, perhaps the upcoming PSP bundle might change Western minds. Above is a glimpse of the Japanese bundle - we're hoping the European one is ten-times more awesome.

It is one of the most limited edition psp available in market. I have seen it in real life through my friend at australian writings and I have never seen such a masterpiece gaming device.
