The game, which we're enjoying in an on-and-off capacity, has seen its playerbase split pretty evenly between the traditional computer and console platformers.
Metrics released by Sony Online Entertainment suggest 45 percent of the playerbase are playing on the PS3, with the other 55 percent obviously on PC. Interestingly, PS3 players gaming habbits differ to those playing on PC.
"PS3 gamers tend to play more," game designer Chris Cao told Kotaku. "But their session lengths are shorter. The average PS3 session is one to one and a half hours, maybe two hours. The typical PC session is usually two to three hours."
We'd love to know what percentage of the PS3 playerbase are new to MMOs. In many ways, DC Universe Online is an important release for the genre. It's certainly opened our eyes, and we doubt that we're alone.
