Catching some rays

Those with a PSP will already be familiar with indie developer The Game Atelier’s charming visual style – the studio previously released the adorable Flying Hamster through the PlayStation Minis platform. Now it is preparing its debut Vita offering, the equally lovely SunFlowers.

The game plays from a vertical perspective, and sees you controlling a sun tasked with the objective of helping plants on the ground to grow.

As you’d expect from a game of this kind, things start out slowly but rapidly, ahem, grow in complexity. It all looks frighteningly addictive though.

The Game Atelier promises the botanic title will use each of the Vita's inputs, including the camera to catch ambient light during dusk stages and the accelerometer to blow away dead leaves on Autumn levels.

There’s no date for the blossoming exclusive just yet, but hopefully it’s not too far away. We’re going to go and dig out our copy of Flying Hamster while we wait.
